UGC Writeup - lol
I want to start off by saying this thread is not intended to be a flame. I'm only going to post gator's 'writeup' and respond to a few things.
I would like to say that I do appreciate Gator's detail in his writeups - they're very... detailed? OK - here goes: Quote:
At any rate - Round one starts and, pretty much, RIGHT as the round starts our engy times out. My team did not utter ONE word about it as we were going to play through it and do our best. It happens. They pretty much tear the two soldiers apart - it wasn't pretty. Round 1 was pretty bad because it's difficult to get set when you start a man down and you always feel like you're playing catch up. As for our server, located in Chicago, Africa, is not bad. I've seen 100 players like gator who complain if servers aren't exactly the same as theirs. I have never heard a single complaint from anyone else about it - just one way for him to compain about.. god knows what. I think it makes him feel better inside. R1 - ouch. Disorgainzed they killed us. Round 2 was on their server. We waited about ten minutes before going in and I asked him to please start asap as I had somewhere to be (it was already 10:0 at 11. Gator started quoting rules to me - that they're allowed a break, etc etc etc. I asked him to please get the show on the road out of respect for the team he just killed. He then began to quote rules again. Gator - I never accused you of hacking. I simply stated "Like the #1 rule - no hacking?" - referring, of course, to his TFC days...(in a voice of innocence) because no one in the fellas hacks now...(/voice of innocence) Round two finally starts at like 10:12ish. We switch up one of our O and one of our D. For most of the match we hung with them. 10-20, 20-30, 30-40 until one of their guys dropped. They switched hoop back to D and had gator run scout on our d, alone. We left the SG in the fr and had our engy swing. At first - tr and I stayed soldier. Gator did get some touches... then I went demo. I am, quite possibly, the WORST demo in the history of tfc/ff. Why would I play it, you ask? We, clearly, were going to lose and I wanted to mess around a bit. I det gator a few times, tk tr a few times - gator jukes me - caps. Next thing I know, TR goes demo - so we have 2 demo and a SG out of ammo. Gator: You're a decent player. You're not god. If we really wanted to hold you, we would have. Capping 1v3 (or 2 - however you look at it) was so easy because TR and I were screwing around. For example: did you see the TK icons for the detpacks? I got him once or twice and he got eternal and I once or twice... We honestly wanted to see you make a fool of yourself in the write up claiming to be some sort of ff god, lol. Had we decided to play seriously - r2 would have been 4-4 or maybe 4-5. Instead, we opt for fun and lose 9-4. At any rate - I'm not crying. Gator's writeups are always one sided because he's amazing. I guess it sort of made me laugh. illo out |

rofl..no flames necessary....you guys lost
and we didnt even have our starters... yea thats right...our starters if we really wanted to pummel you I would have showed up with gator...you guys could have ran 4 defense and 2 offense and we still woulda won... of course you are gonna make it sound like you guys didnt try and yuo lost becuase of disorganization...however we were probably just as disorganized as you becuase apparently we didnt even have enough players till the last second (hence why gator delayed). Its all about dealing with what you have...and obviously what you have wasnt enough to beat us. next time gg edit: till proven other wise...gator is a god Last edited by VinnytheBoss; 04-03-2008 at 04:55 PM. |

haha that was long, but true. It was 1v2 (or 2.5 I guess? since he had an sg up but he said it didn't even have ammo lol). Would we have lost even if we tried to hold you rd2? Yes. But it would have been closer. No flames- I just thought it was funny how you said "it was easier 1v3 on o" at the end of the match. Maybe because I was laying detpacks trying to kill our own team? Nahhh.... you must be an FF god.
I must admit though I had fun rd2! poor eternal feeling the wrath of my TK teh_rape off topic- is there a way I can get my name changed to teh_rape? or do I have to register again |

5.3. Starting Subsequent Rounds
5.3.1. 10 minute breaks are allowed in between each round of play. This time can be ignored if both teams agree to it before-hand. Team leaders are encouraged to remain in communication between rounds in the event there are problems making the transfer of teams between servers. 5.3.2. If a team is not ready for round2 (and any successive rounds) after the agreed on break and by the end of that round's prematch (total of 10 minute break plus 3 minute prematch), that team is entitled to a maximum of TWO additional restarts (though more MAY be granted at the discretion and agreement of the hosting team.) Please be courteous to the visiting team in the event there are problems arising from the transfer of servers. |

all that aside, i find his writeups generally errogant, selfserving and undermining. One looks forward at a chance to fack his couch.

Now, back to expyre. These are not the UGC forums, you seem to be in the wrong place, but I'll go a head and reply back. You said you did not pm me, yet you pmed Hoopajoo (who isn't a leader and thus you shouldn't have contacted him in the first place). I was in your channel but no one was on anyways. I was in #ugc-ff waiting to be contacted by a private message, something you failed to do so. I had to go through my steam friends list to contact you directly from there. Round 1 was not started 20 minutes late, it was started 5 minutes late due to your poor communication. Matches can be started no later than 9:15 unless communication problems are encountered...and that's exactly what happened. I was not the only one complaining about the server, most of my members can agree that it wasn't great nor enjoyable to play in. It doesn't make me feel better to think that ours is better, I simply wanted to point it out so you guys can probably host a better quality server for future matches. http://fortress-forever.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=14822 It is not simply the ping. Your server was running at 33 tickrate instead of 66/100, I suggest you contact your host to upgrade it to at least 66 for no additional cost. Additionally, constant chokes and unreliable performance seemed to happen the entire round. Vinnytheboss is correct, play us with our full lineup and good game Jesus ...and like Vinny said, I am a God.

Don't the 100 though. I've been informed that it causes problems with the doors and bags in the game. We recently switched to 66tic and it's (apparently) fantastic! I can't really tell (with my 9fps lol) any difference, but from the guys on my squad with high end pcs, they call it fantastic.
Also, if I recall correctly (correct me Satan if I'm wrong), all match talk that goes on that ISN'T password sensative is supposed to be done in the UGC forums or their irc channel. I'm not defending GF, I'm just trying to make sure everyone's on the same page. |

Now in terms of rescheduling, yes you really need to post a thread in the scheduling forum so that there is a record of a reschedule.

I was going to mention that our private server has been flawless, but then it went ahead and fucked up a couple times for a last night pickup. Go figure.
I like reading your rather informative summaries, Gator, but you do tend to talk down the other team quite a bit. Just sayin' man. As for the match, I can't comment much for I wasn't there. I do know were also playing without a full roster and haven't practiced together as a unit, well, rarely. But a loss is a loss. Hopefully we can scrim with you guys with all starters in a clean and organized match in the (very near) future.
