Our Creativity - Show 'n Tell
SilverFox's post about his anthro drawings made me think about the fact that many of us do creative stuff outside of mapping, modeling, etc. I thought it might be neat to have a thread where we could show off other fun creative work we've done.
I make industrial club mixes and give them away (sometimes 50+ copies) for free to friends and.. well.. anyone... to get people more interested in the music. Over time I've gotten more into making the tracklists etc. look nice, here's what I did for the last one: This is printed on a b&w laser printer on multi-colored card stock. It's a good way to make them look nice at low cost, and the paper tends to glow in blacklight, which makes them harder to lose in a dark club. I also made a limited number (about 25) of printed cds for my best friends on my Epson R200 photo printer. I use the Verbatim printables that have a soft-gloss, silverish surface, it looks quite nice. Anyone else have stuff to show? |

Probably Loader. Do you live in the US, or elsewhere? I'm not sure what shipping would be abroad. Other possibility- I could rip an ISO and send you that over aim or something, along with the tracklist template to print out your own.
That's some nice work, Circ. Love the spy sketch, even though it's barely started. |

Wow Circ, really nice unique style you have there. What do you draw them with? Computer or pencil and paint? I esp like style and composition of halfling.jpg.

I use a Wacom tablet (graphire3 4x5) and Photoshop. I do some stuff on paper occasionally, but the Wacom's cleaner and less wasteful.

I figure I'll add my 2 cents:
I picked up an educational version of XSI over the summer, and did a lot of screwing around, before I finally decided to try and make something decent. At the time I was watching the Zelda E3 vids, and it somehow inspired me to play through Wind Waker again. I know, I know, I'm a weirdo for liking it. Anyway, I actually liked the toon style of the game, and so I started screwing around with XSI's toon shader. It's pretty cool actually. I thought about trying to model Link, but I didn't want to screw him up as my shit first attempt To make a boring story short, I decided to attempt the character Medli, the odd bird-nosed chick (get it?) in the game. I'm not happy with it, but after going through the trouble, I felt like inflicting the horror on someone :P Here's the Official Nintendo sketch: Ingame shot: My model without Cell Shading (thumbnails): My model with Cell Shading (3rd w/ shadows): Also, I already made a thread showing the only other thing I've actually "finished" so far. Unfortunatly, I haven't had any time to do any further work since the end of the summer. Thank you school. |

The femininity of the halfdrag was a little disturbing though. I suppose the name halfdrag should have alerted me to the fact that it's a guy in drag rather than someone who's half dragon. Can you explain so I can get this disturbing image out of my head? |

All this reminds me of is that rebo bought one of those damn Wacom tables. Except, he got some like $3000 thing, and that was after he had bought some new computer parts.
Haha, he spent like 14 million dollars over a couple weeks. I think he got this one: http://www.wacom.com/lcdtablets/index_21UX.cfm I think that's the one, I don't remember, all I remember is that it was a shitload of money, and I think I'ma steal it and sell it back to him. Cause, you know, people in the UK are dumb like that, haha. |
