Dustbowl.
Oh Man... I was so happy to find out about TFC for the source engine. Please remake my all time favorite, DUSTBOWL. I as well as many others would be very appreciative. Thanks.

Dustbowl is definitely on the list of remakes.
Do you have any specific requets regarding possible map changes you would like to see? |

Start with max prim & sec grens.
Start with full armor. Grenade Resupply in 3rd zone. A real sniper nest so they dont get in the way of other defenders >.< |

Max grenades at the start is hell for the offense. Imagine the spam. IMAGINE IT! A defensive team of spies/pyros would totally slaughter, especially if they stood in their gas/flames to die and ran right back.

O cmon guys dont be silly Those things are just...blah IMO
What i would like to see is better displacement on the cliff walls. Two grenade bags per level for defense team; and of course it wouldnt be fair if the defense team didnt have no grenades so i think you should make them start out wiht 3 grens and 1 special grenade. Also this would be REALLY COOL IMO like in certain spots when enough damage is done to a wall that the certain part that was damaged enough starts to break apart but only to a certain extent so not to make the whole map a waste land. But when the rubble falls to floor it would become part of the level but just dissapear so not to create so much interferance. Ex. an engi has built a sg next to wall and the wall break apart and the rubble covers the sg....now that wont be good. which is why i think the rubble shoudl just dissapear after hitting the ground. And last of all, MORE VARIATIES OF TEXTURES FOR DUSTBOWL in tfc its all pretty much teh same color and its dull and boring(im talking about the textures not the map) I think you should take advantage of cs's de_dust/de_dust2 textures to make dustbowl seem more realistic thats all. -Nomak |

Make more choke points throughout the map. Having one really nasty chokepoint at the beginning of the map makes for a really anger-filled map. Perhaps make some of the tunnels a little larger, and adding some concs to the meds and scouts?

To be honest, dustbowl in the original TFC was in my oppinion well balanced. I think just a pretty makeover would be good for the map. I just want to thank you all for this project. When do you think it will be released and will it be free?

I do lke the idea of a "REAL" sniper nest...by each door, so the snipers can be killed, but are not in the way of reg D

Leave the grenades as they are, they're that way for a reason.
No one wants an engineer running with a primed EMP into the respawn and blowing everyone to hell. (it is fun though) The armor though should defanately be made normal from the start, it only makes sence that way. Perhaps adding health to the respawns as well. |

I'd rather have the respawns not allow grenades going off in the first place. On larger servers you can sometimes just not avoid that major EMP kill the Engy is going to get. This shouldn't happen.

One thing that should be done to a remake of Dustbowl is move the gren bag from where it is on section 2, to inside the bunker to the right (as you look at the bag)
Would stop huge amounts of spam from HWs and Demos who camp it. a WP admin (R33F3RM4N) was thinking of tweaking Dusty for WP servers, and that was one suggestion. I myslef had thought of giving offy one secondary gren, but realise that's not such a good idea as engy could emp pipes set at the grate |

I have a question, will the dustbowl for FF be a COMPLETE makeover, so its practically a different map, or will just the texturing and a few other things be changed?

I dunno. This is one of the spammy maps they added in TF1.5. While it was good fun, I always felt like part of the reason they altered the concing, hwguy speed, etc. so much was just to suit this one map. I guess what I am saying is, unless FF is more like TF1.5 than TFC, the map would need to be altered to work properly. I just hope FF is more like the original TFC, since TF1.5 dumbed-down the gameplay something horrible.
