Official Maplist

Can we get the official maplist for FF out? I'm really anxious to start mapping for FF and I don't want to be spending most of my mapping time on a map already in development.

In an old thread (Can't find thread now), it was mentioned that we would get the maplist soon (that was like 2 weeks ago).

And since map development has started, it shouldn't be too hard to give out a list of officially-released/planned maps.

Thanks,
Anshinritsumai

I say that the maps should be the ones that are the current default maps, and maybe a few very popular league maps such as shutdown2, openfire_l, totalwar, etc.

totalwar hasn't been a popular league map in quite a while... unless it's still played in europe and I just didn't know about it.

I don't think it was ever a league map anywhere and it may not have been so popular but damn it sure could be fun to play sometimes.
Another one of those three-D and it's lockdown maps.

I certainly wouldn't put it on a short list to be remade...if at all.

some you can deffo count on being in production (imo)

monkey
2fort
well
rock2
openfire
shutdown (mebbe)
shutdown2 (obv cos of screenies)

i hope maps like schtop, chimkey, bases, mortality, cz2, fortsake2 will also be ported ... along with new maps and new ideas specific for FF.

There's no point porting older maps from TFC if they wont work with the FF gameplay.

Totalwar is not played in europe in any leagues afaik and hasnt been for a LONG LONG time

I'm curious as to why you would include rock2 in that list...

rock2 is a brilliant map.

If the FF team cud make a few small changes to sort out the balance then it will once again be great!

I felt rock2 lost its league play slots due to the balancing issues inherent to TF (Specifically tight corridors and spam making it almost impossible to cap.) Giving the addressing of these balancing issues and the opportunity to remake a slightly more open version of the map then fingers crossed it will be re-popularised.

I'd love to see an (as close to) official map list too... or at least what the FF team is planning for sure.

I was actually noodling around this past weekend attempting to port crossover2 as a HL2DM map. But like others have said, I'd prefer not to duplicate someone elses effort.

Keep up the great work guys!
