The Island...
This movie was better than I expected.
If you see it, and you have low expectations, it'll impress you. If you have mid to high expectations, it'll make you roll your eyes and lose interest. The blonde chick at points was just to keep you interested. Other than that, I give it one thumb up and one sideways. |

I had low expectations for this movie, but I was actually surpised at how much better it was than what I thought would be.

I liked the concept a lot, but it was a bit too drawn out and they needed to make the characters a bit more interesting. Still, an enjoyable movie.
Also, when they were being chased... their luck (in terms of the bad guys crashing their cars, helicopters, etc.) was good to the point of being unbelievable. Not that I don't like watching stuff blow up, mind you |

Some of the plot elements reminded me a bit of Logan's Run. Also, anyone else hear "pod racer" sounds during the "bike" race? That gave me a laugh. Also some scenes strained credibility for me....but ot's a movie...whacha gonna do?
Enjoyed the movie overall though. |

Michael bay sucks as a director.
He's great at putting together action sequences and such but as a complete director he's just really mediocre. I think I would have enjoyed it more if a different person made this movie. But for the most part I agree. |

Bay and Boll are like Ed Wood, without the heart.

I was just offering Boll as an example that might make Bay seem a better choice....even if it was by a slight margin!
