ff to include css textures?
are there plans for the final version of ff to come with css textures included or will the mappers have to embed any they want to use?

It's illegal to distribute anything outside of the base source engine .gcf files.

I hope I don't get in trouble for distributing the tiger tank from DoD:S in ff_tiger.

the only thing is that css is free to anyone owning hl2... but dods is not necessarily bundled with hl2.
on a side note hammer just screamed at me and crashed. i got several hundered error boxes all at the same time. yay. |

CS:S is not free to all HL2 owners nowadays. The packages have been revised.

Word from Valve is it isnt. You can use anything soure materials.gcf, source models.gcf, source sounds.gcf as anyone who buys a source engine game gets those .gcf's
If you buy CSS or DoDS you get extra ones, now if you extract and repackage them with a mod/map you are pretty much breaking copyright laws and there is the chance of being sued, highly unlikely but that is the law. My mod's emailed Valve on this and was told this. Yes Epicenter has a CSS APC in it, but that was put in before the packages were revised and you no longer got CSS free with HL2. |

Perhaps for CS2 or any plans to port CS:CZ etc to Source.

so if a mod were to just look up the GCFs again, making them a prequisite for the mod, it would be okay? just repackaging is bad? i'm not saying FF should in any way btw
