Fortress Forever for mac?
Im kinda sad that I cant play FF on my mac. My PC recently broke and I now have to use this mac that I had 1 year ago. I cant afford to buy a new PC and I kinda wanna know about the progress of Fortress Forever on the Mac. Thanks

IF Valve ever releases a Mac-compatible SDK, we'll look into porting it. For now, You'll have to boot Windows to play any mods.

Just use bootcamp with windows, or you can use Parallels if you have a good enough machine. If it's a PowerPC forget it. Newest iMac 21" with 16GB of ram runs FF at 60FPS on Parallels no problems.

Yeah, I'd recommend bootcamping (read: dual partitioning) if you're willing to shell out the money required for Windows 7. That's what I do, anyway, and it works perfectly fine. Same goes for Quake Live (mac client is terrible).
It's a damn shame, I can almost guarantee this game would see a relatively large influx of players if it was available on the Mac -- there are so few great free multiplayer shooters on the Mac, lots of Mac users who enjoy multiplayer shooters would flock to this because word would get around pretty quickly on various mac forums. |

I would use boot camp and partition and stuff but I dont have enough space on my hard drive (About 40GB) I would easily partition if I could get an external hard drive but I cant right now.

I was running FF on Parallels for a while. 60-100FPS, never dipped below 60. My only problem was the Magic Mouse. It's not a gaming mouse.
