He has a point here.

However, the devs do not have to tell us a goddamned thing anyways, so fuck your point with a rusty rake. You just get the golf club.

lotsa noobs are going to make one with the ff_2fort name
Good call. I hope theyre keeping a 2fort surprise.

Don't take the number of maps on the beta server vs. the number initially proposed as some sort of... badness. Look at dystopia version 1 - they have about the same number of maps that are around on the beta server. So no worries about there not being enough maps. And hell, we've got at few high-quality community maps out already.

Development has slowed but there is no chance of FF dying. Beta forums are active, updates are frequent and progress is definitely being made.

You must be new here, every question asked about a specific area of the mod has usually been answered by Lost or another member with access to the mod. The mod is able to be played and a couple of the maps are nearly completed, there are some somewhat major bugs that need fixing before release which is holding up the progress. Most likely if it were in fact a 9-5 job it'd be finished in 2 weeks as stated.

Anyone who's complaining of maps not being done has obviously never ever used hammer.

I have $50 here that says the very last thing to hold up the release of the mod after EVERYTHING else is finished will be 2 maps that need to be recompiled for like the 4th time because a texture was misaligned or someone forgot to turn one of the vis groups back on... again.

So when a mapper says that a map is 'very nearly done' I take it to mean that most people wouldn't know that it isn't.

srrsly mapping in hammer is SOOOOOO easy the only reason its taking ff devs so long is because theyre lazy and they dont really want to release the game cuz they like seeing us squirm!

Lol, I'm venting steam about a map of mine that I just can't get finished. I've sent it to a friend who's going to do a full compile several times now, and each time after the day and a half of compiling we find some minor but map-breaking problem. The last time it was because one of the visgroups was off. But this sort of thing happens to me every time.
