Publicity
I don't know if it has been suggested before but here it goes...
TF2 is getting a lot of coverage at the moment and with most sites you can reply to a new article. Now when you see an article about TF2 you can leave a reply in the likes of "Check out www.fortress-forever.com for a more 'mature' version of TF on source." Just an idea. |

I agree, no need to publicize the site when we're doing just fine already.

I wouldn't say that. I've been into a few newbie servers lately, and I've seen one discussion about FF, and numerous about TF2. After all, newbies are part of the TFC community too, and they do need to be educated some how...

Well, you don't have to spam anything. Just get the FF staff to kindly ask willing server admins to include a message (Preferably at the top, so it gets read) about FF in their MOTD.

The only reason they're talking about TF2 is because you have no choice but to read about it when you load Steam. If we get more exposure from players, then thats good enough for now.

Rather than "more mature" I would suggest "less cartoony."
Really I'd rather see how TF2 plays before making any willy-nilly comparisons. Then we can point out the differences more effectively, WITHOUT making rampant assumptions.

u shure u did'nt pin the guy up lol
i'll agree spaming blogs and stuff could be an idea but..... u could just make ur self an anouyance and thus makeing people just block and ignore the ad's on the other hand if u do spam the blogs u may get a few ppl visting and conversing in the forums i guess my point is advertise but not to much lol |

I'm not saying at ALL that that's what it would be... but that is how it would appear if we began spamming TF2 threads with FF stuff. Rest assured, FF will get its fair share of coverage. Let's let the TF2 threads deal with TF2, and the FF threads with FF. It's as simple as that. |

as soon as there are long trailers and an eventual public beta, the game will get plenty of exposure.

Nothing wrong with some subtle "ninja marketing" like
"It seems we can choose between 2 TF mods on the HL2 engine. www.fortress-forever.com" |

I think a small little post after a news article about FF (Like what frz said) is an outstanding idea. It's not spam if you do it once, and getting the name out to people actually interested in TF would be great.
Not to mention that posting fortress-forever.com everywhere will increase it's google rank. |
