if you havent noticed how much shittier and more inconsistent the officiating of the nhl has gotten, you dont watch enough hockey. of course its just part of the game, and good teams will get around it, but that doesnt make it any less annoying to a fan of the sport.

of course i know you are just bitter that neither of your favorite teams were good enough to get past the first round (oh, the avs didnt even make the playoffs...) its ok etzell, theyll get em next year!

Crosby isnt the crybaby he was when he first entered the leauge. I really have alot of respect for him now. He isnt a puck hog at all anymore, either.

I guess thats also cause I spent most of my life in, or near, Pittsburgh. Once again though, I'm happy either outcome cause they are my two favorite teams. Would be nice for Pittsburgh is they won the cup too, Steelers and Pens taking home their respected championships.

But, in all seriousness. Go Wings.

i just had a post type out but it got deleted by my interwebs being a failure.

mainly, wings need to learn they have to play like they want to win more than just in the 3rd period. fleury was great, wings didnt show up till the 3rd. i had to turn off the tv after the game because crysby lifting the cup would have made me vomit. he did nothing the whole series but show that he still isnt mature enough to be the "best player in the league."

pens first goal was an icing that didnt get called, but that is no excuse for the wings not having any energy till the 3rd period. plain and simple, they didnt deserve to win this game. they can only blame themselves for this loss and the loss in game 6.

also, i want to talk about hossa. what is this "i want to win a cup but i dont want to work for it" shit? the only time he was useful during the entire playoffs was the game 4s of the first 3 series. he was a fucking no-show other than that, and didnt do a goddamn thing this entire series. i will be surprised, and even a little upset, if they sign him for next year. he was great in the regular season but pussed out when it really counted.

blah. im moving back to detroit this weekend and was hoping to come home to a parade. so much for that.

worst part of this is having to watch the commercials next year. bettmans hard-on for crosby is going to be poking me in the face through the tv during every new commercial.

cheers to the wings for getting this far. i only wish they could have had the heart to take it the rest of the way. heres to next season being even as close to as good as this one.

i know a lot of this post is me ripping on the wings, and maybe im being overly critical, but i love them almost as much as my own family, and to see something like this happen is just frustrating. i am also pretty drunk right now, so take that into consideration (i have a bit of a history of making extra-long and extra-spiteful drunk posts)

i wish my wingies the best of luck for next year. god knows i will be watching every game i can and rooting for them all the way. shame they couldnt repeat, but i guess 2 repeats in 11 years is a bit too much to ask

All I have to say is, yay.

All things considered, though, I can't be a cock about it. As much as I hate the Wings and am glad to see the Pens hoist the cup, the Wings are still a damn fine team, and played a damn fine series.

And besides, it's hockey. Yay hockey.
