No, it's Control Alt Delete, as usual.

I went to Ubuntu last night, actually.

Every other computer in the house runs XP, though.

Def. sticking to XP...Vista doesn't have anything I need and I don't really plan on buying a copy...SP 3 will be out for XP soon (at least that's what I understand).

No, Ctrl-Alt-Del opens up that stupid menu that takes up your whole screen.

Stick with XP. If you want prettiness, then read the Mock OSX article.

Basically, you can have all of the prettiness without all of the RAM hogging. If you take away the visual stuff, what does Vista have better than XP?

The consumers didn't choose Vista....it was the ONLY OS loaded at the computer store.

Vista only became a special order offered by some manufacturers, like Dell, AFTER a lot of consumer outrage.

I was running Vista Ultimate 64-bit on my other computer for about 5 months without any problems, but then I had a power surge and my motherboard fried; so now I'm back on my backup comp that runs on XP until I can get my other computer back up and running again. I liked it, never had any problems running any games or programs with it, except maybe that buggy as all hell Bioshock. Actually looking forward to using it again.

I work for a UK national brand in selling PC Hardware/SW, supporting technical issues. Most convosations I actually ask, Vista users how they find it, compared to XP. If they have tried XP.. they prefer it, not really had anyone say they like Vista.

The issues I think most people have(casual users) are that, Vista just has menu's and options all of the place, its abit bewildering. Though the GUI is nicer and chunkier to look at, its still a mare.

In my mind its like how I advise customers to remove Norton Anti Virus and to get AVG - just because alot less issues arise and its free. Each and everytime explaining Norton is just a pretty and nice to look at, and though compared AVG looks minimialist, it does a fantastic job.

What?! HOW?!

Oh, and Megaturtle.... Thanks! I was wondering what was up with my control-alt-del not working right.

I can't really file any complaints with Vista at the moment, but then again, I've been using it less than a week.

One thing I can say I don't like, is the "Hibernate" feature having either been relocated or done away with. I haven't seen it, and don't know where it might be hiding at. It pisses me off, because many times I would Hibernate the machine(my older ones) so I could pick up where I left off without re-doing everything. Now, I can't do that....because the "sleep" mode keeps the fucking thing powered up.

Vista is ok but as anything you have to tweak it.........

that is allot of shit running at default that you need to turn off in order to speed things up. It is also a frigging memory hog but the good news that MS devels have admin that now Windows is bloated and the next windows version is begin developed at the kernel up and not just adding to the current code base as Vista was ontop of XP. This will definately decrease the requirements and stop MS from saying that since memory is cheap then why not us it all up. Also I am still waiting on WinFS files system but as of yet it is not here. Windows is still my OS of choice and I use Linux distros but who f$#$%^ needs 36 main distros of the almost same f^%$&#@ thing. Linux pisses me off and the support service business model will not last for very long.

The did away with that in xp. You used to be able to press Shift in the turn off menu and it would show up, but not anymore.
