it will not. instead of updating the Source SDK they already have, valve has create a new one, Source SDK Base- Orange Box. No EP2 engine for FF unless the developers are so inclined to change Bases.

If you're surprised you should really read up on these things more.

Until ep2 issues are sorted out a switchover isn't likely any time soon.

Thats impossible, I mean you can default the rendering to dx 8, as ep2 takes advantage of dx9 more or less.

adamido, did you even READ the thread? I said if the developers are so inclined to switch whole SDK Bases, it wont be updated automatically. Ihmihi, mostly, said we would be updated automatically becuase Valve would update the Source SDK Base, which FF runs on. Instead, Valve made a NEW Base, called Source SDK Base- Orange Box. Oh, and do you have GMOD 10 (11, now). It's EP2-engine-based and it runs on DX7. EP2 supports DX7 unoffically, Valve was just too lazy to code all of it in, although Garry did. As long as we dont make everything a Shader like Valve did, we should be fine. As long as your team WANTS to support DX7, it'll support it. Valve didnt want to. My mod team is moving to EP2, and we're working on getting DX7 up and running. But seriously, it's 200 fucking 8. DX7 came out in 1999. its REALLY REALLY REALLY PAST the time to upgrade. i did, and you'll be very happy once you do. or, you could pick up an 8 dollar DX8.1 card on eBay. Seriously, it's really 8 dollars and will prolly pwn your geforce4MX
