Map idea.
I got an idea for a new type of CTF, which I'm giving the working title "multi capture." The basic premise is that a neutral flag starts in the center of the map, and each team has a multi-area base like so:
Code:
BLUE FLAG RED | 1 | ------- | 2 | ------- | 3 | ------- | N | ------- | 3 | ------- | 2 | ------- | 1 | For example: Blue and Red both start at their side's third section. The game begins, and the Red team grabs the flag, bringing it to their capture point in Section 3. The next round starts, with Blue spawning in the Neutral Area, and Red spawning in their Section 2. This time, Blue nabs the flag first, and brings it back to the Neutral Area. The next round starts, with both teams at their Section 3. Blue gets the flag again, and brings it to their capture point in Section 3. The next round starts, with Red in the Neutral Area and Blue in Section 2. Blue takes the flag again, bringing it to their capture point in Section 2. The next round starts, with Red spawning at Blue's Section 3 and Blue spawning at their Section 1. Blue takes the flag and returns it to their capture point in Section 1. Blue has successfully taken the flag, and wins the game. To facilitate this, each section would have to be neutrally oriented, so that one could easily attack from either side as the need arose, and the sections would have to be moderately similar to one another. To make the map a little harder, you could make it so no team can spawn beyond the neutral zone. This makes it much harder for their offense to get the flag, so you could balance that out by making the later sections difficult to navigate. Anyways, that pretty much covers my idea. Comments? Suggestions?

Somewhat, yeah. Sort of a mix between warpath and avanti.

It should be the other way.. You grab the flag and push it to the enemies spawn area. Otherwise, once you get the flag you're home free.

You don't just run from point to point. Once you get it to your next point, the "round" ends and each team respawns in the closest base on their side.
So really, it's like a bizarre mix of epicenter (resetting teams after a cap), avanti (progressive flag capping), and warpath (securing multiple points in order). Perhaps if you had to push the flag forward instead it would give a reason to have defensive classes (as currently, there's really nothing to defend, is there?), so, you make a good point. As-is, it'd probably be entirely offense.

there's nothing wrong with the basic idea of what you're saying. the hard part is making and balancing a map that will make the idea fun to play. gl if you go for it.
