It's only a little minority of idiots in the muslim community that are pulling this jihad, most of em are fine. I grew up with some perfectly normal muslims.

They were interviewing some "radical preacher" on bbc the other day, turns out he's just some guy who dropped out of uni because he was too stupid/lazy and instead of telling his parents he was too stupid/lazy he decided to become a radical instead.

You get stupid people everywhere just these few get brainwashed a bit different to most.

I think the government and police could probably do more to crack down on the radical preaching / brainwashing / cult jihad to stop them in the first place, but I don't think its easy.

In this day and age people's lives are too easy and boring, everyone is looking for an enemy to get passionate about rather than sitting around watching TV and getting fat off mcdonalds. We need an alien invasion to unite everyone, or maybe the nazis again

All man made religions are a farse. To put it simply, they are what people construct in their minds to be true when they cannot explain the important questions in their lives. Why are we here? What is my purpose? The culmination of thought continues to evolve and as religion begins to die out, things can get drastic.

Soon we will start to see the muslim and christian religions die out and will start to have science as a religion instead. Pseudo science began its popularity in the early 1400s and later, and often viewed as witchcraft. But as we get smarter and gain a better understanding of the world we live in, we have no choice but to accept the truths of our time and it is high time we admit that religion is a fallacy, a ruse, a clever lie we tell ourselves hoping that one day when we are dead and gone, everything will be alright.

To bring it back to islamic extremists blowing themselves up, imagine what it's like to live in that region of the world. Imagine no air conditioning, seldom clean water and scarce food supply. I, too, would be a pissed off motherfucker if I were directly effected by those 3 things alone. But the middle east has become more than that. The US has become like a bully with a stick, poking and proding at the fire ant hill that is the middle east. As we try to move our hand across the globe to maintain control anywhere and everywhere, we come closer and closer to our own demise as a country and bring the peoples of Earth closer to destruction. The problem is we have these religious fundamentalists in office who make and pass laws that are not based on morality, not based on truths but based on greed, lies and politics. And as we start to see the people of the middle east rise up against us, we only have ourselves to blame for it.

Obviously the US has only been around for ~237 years, but this country has a primary faith and that is Christianity.

Millions were tortured and slaughtered in the name of Christianity during the periods of the Arian, Donatist and Albigensian heresies.

During the Crusades, more than 6 million were killed at the hands of both Christians and Muslims.

2/3rds of the Christian population of Europe was slaughtered by Christians during Europe's Reformation and Counter Reformation Era.

The massacres of the Incan and Mayan peoples by Christian Spaniards in the hundreds of thousands.

Christian Serbs murdered over 300,000 Muslims and raped over 100,000 Muslim women between 1992 and 1995.

In the 20th century alone, Western & Christian powers have been responsible for at least twenty times more deaths than have Muslim powers.

you left out alot of the stuff the Muslims were doing.

and okay yes those happened but those are things people have done in the "name of religion" not what the religious text actually says which is what darken hellspawn referring to. if you've have read the bible because if you had none of those things are considered acceptable. your also only proving that people themselves are violent which they are.

people have been using religion as a tool to promote violence for probably just about as long as its been around. it doesn't mean that the religion itself supports what they did. see religion can be used as a great tool for uniting the people. you can then manipulate it any way you want. (you can do that for anything.)

id comment on the Muslim/Quran but I've never "really" read any of it. except a few pages here and there. I wouldn't call that objective nor the commentary which was even worse.
