This is a question for the Fortress Forever Team

I was really wondering what modeling program you guys use for your grenades and weapons. Because those are some of the nicest, realistic grenades I have ever seen. I would like to compliment your modeller who did them. You've got talent man.

I did all the models on the website in 3D Studio Max, but I think decs' texture work was what brought them to life

I think you guys played an equal part because they look great. Did he make the texes himself? BTW how much does 3D Studio Max cost? Like $350.00? How did you afford it?! Good job though!

Decs created all the textures from scratch, yeah, and I got my copy of max in a school related architecture competition a little while ago

Hey Sepihroth.

I created all the textures from scratch using Adobe Photoshop 7. I work mainly with airbrush and the dodge and burn tools. I usually dont use any filters at all, as it tends to make evrything look a bit cheap. I use a Wacom Intous 3 and a Logitech Mx 700. :]

On a slight side-note, i've been trying to find out more about un-wrapping models so I can texture them.

Any good tutorials for preferably XSI? Anything is good though so I can get the gist of it.

Unwrapping will make me go insane pretty soon and I hate it. I hate it a lot. I can't really suggest anything for XSI because XSI is for fags, but there's a really neat set of scripts for max that simplify and speed up the process a whole lot. So maybe look around for something like that for XSI.

Hmm well I have to politely disagree with you XSI is for fags comment since its modelling toolset is rather advanced compared to other programs. However with each new release of all the modeling & animating tools they get more and more alike really..

As for unwrapping I guess i'll wait till we cover that at Uni. It sounds like an interesting cerebal challange thought and I reckon I could get into it.
