edit: Oh you already had a word to say about it I see. Nevermind. Threads suck, forums should be directed acyclic graphs.

Ya, hide 'n seek maps are supposed to be darker than usual. As a hunted I'll sometimes tweak my monitor seetings, but never as the hunter.
