In TFC the pyro is a terrible class. In CTF organised play he is categorically outclassed by the medic on offence and the soldier on defence. Therefore anyone using him in organised play is probably just messing around trying to annoy people or just unfamiliar with organised play altogether.

I always considered the pyro a distraction force on a team, send him down first, flame the entire area, then send a medic through while the enemy's burning and their sight is hindered a bit... he's not a "get the kill" type of class, or a "get the flag" type of class... but his skill could be helpful, albeit no fun to play.

I agree with the whole massive graphics comment. However, I liked the ability to bold items that were important (ie what would get you banned) and also show the user their stats long term on the server in the motd.

Sure hypothetically the pyro is an OK class but his weapons are just a bit too weak in TFC to ever be seen in "competitive" play. So, on servers that are trying to emulate "competitive" play, pyro is usually prohibited.

people forget in CTF play its 8v8, meaning 4 offence/defence and you dont wanna go wasting one of those spots for a pyro

Do what TFC servers do; put a link to the stats on your site. If someone wants to see their stats, they go to your site. Boom, increase traffic, win/win. If someone is online playing FF, then they definitely have a web browser, so what is the big dealie?

The clan would want an open discussion with the playerbase, and I wouldn't presume to adequantely represent the wider FF playerbases side of any arguement. There are obviously very differing opinions about the game that I am not well versed in. Thanks anyway though.

TFC servers don't have the ability that Source servers do. From within the game in source servers we use the html of source to display a webpage specific to the end user that shows their stats, kill ratio, rank, etc. They don't have to leave the game to see their stats in webpage format.

Also, [o-t] admins get a different page that displays in the MOTD that displays a summary of information of the players in the game. Currently we do this in TFC with another tool that gives us a menu and then displays a players record like the following, so we know who is who without having to page out of the game (incidently this player record is a mock-up for our instruction web pages, this isn't the player's true record):

That sounds good, what would probably be best is if you created a new thread on that particular topic outlining your idea. I'll point the clan to it and let them decide on an individual bases whether or not they want to respond here or just make their voice known in our clan forums.

Thanks,
Scuzzy

Hey, I'll never play on O-T, not because of the rules, but because of the ping.
It's hard to play on non brazilian servers.

That's the shortest and most ineffective motivational speech I've ever heard.

Your argument is too convincing. We'll allow bhopping in FF after release and see how it goes. Thanks for your input, it opened our eyes.
