Outside I pick dogs hands down. There is so much you can do with a dog outside. Inside its all about the cats. I don't believe in having inside dogs. They smell, I don't care how well you clean up after them they smell and eventually you get used to it and you can't smell it but your guests can. Cats are easy to take care of and generally don't require any special attention inside or outside. You just can't enjoy an outside cat though.

We just got two puppies that are boxer/pit mix. We named them Pickles and Bucket. I'm a German Shepard person but these two were free and the GS puppies were $300 a pup.

lol why...a cat would rather purr and cuddle with you to get what it wants...dogs are dumb.

Just admit it, cats can't do that.

Oh I forgot to mention, Emo can fetch and does so quite often. I'd like to take credit for it but I can't. She just kind of taught herself.

If you get a cat you pretty much know what you are going to get. Yes they are individuals but they all have the same basic requirements. If you get a dog you need to research the breed. Some need more exercise and attention than others. You can't expect a terrier not to chew on anything and you can't expect a collie not to want to go for a run every day. No dog can be left alone all day, every day while you go to work. It's criminal.

While a cat is like having a roommate, a dog is like having a kid. It is more devoted to you but it needs more attention.

Never declaw a cat.

Cats vs. Dogs? IMO, cats seem to have a more mysterious personality... dogs seem more... straightfoward.

My cats are declawed and live perfectly fine without them. They were declawed, stayed over night one night and then came back the next day just the same as they were before. If anything they became more affectionate after. They still climb, jump, and knock over everything in sight.

I was really worried about the process since there is so much against it on the internet. We talked to many vets before it was done and found a guy who made sure to walk us through what was going to happen and even went out of his way to give us an update on them every two or three hours even after his vet hours were over. I was amazed that the only thing we had to do was put shredded newspaper in the litter box for 5 days. They weren't bandaged up, bloody, or even acting at all like something was wrong and to this day you wouldn't know either way.

Which brings me to the conclusion that its all about who performs the procedure. To me the guy that did ours cared 100% about the safety of our animals and because of that his work was reflected. He's been our vet for about a year now and sadly he has cancer. Too few vets like that these days.

lol my kitty fetches...plays with straws...idk why and I didn't teach him either, but he does it. Kinda annoying though b/c he will take the straw out of my soda's and shit while I'm drinking them.

Yo' I like cats as much as I like dogs, we have both and they live happily together. Our puppy seems pretty sure the cats are dogs though :3.

I just wanted to go against the crowd and give the dogs some love in this thread <3

A caring vet does make a world of difference, we have the same vet for all 5 of our dogs, our eldest who sadly passed away a couple months ago (Kidney failure I believe :3) was 17, got given to me when I was born (Granted, I couldn't look after her then.) anyway, the vet we have is nearly in his 70s now and he still does a superb job, our second eldest who was recently just in the vets to have half of his jaw removed due to cancer, is 15, we hope he lives to 17 and older too ;D!

you really only need to take them to the vet's once, get them fixed, and then get their shots, notihng else. you can tell if they have fleas or not, just google how to do so. if they do, then buy some flea medicine with a coupon

Especially with dogs. Dogs can get heart worms or even have any heart condition present and usually you can't tell until its too late. Cats usually have a way about them that shows something isn't right but they should still get at least one checkup a year. And as always do research on any medicine you get for your animal before giving it to them even if a vet prescribed it. Unlike people animals can't say "Hey that pill gave me the shits." or "Hey I just puked up my liver! WTF?"

well, somewhere along the line i had gotten the sexes of the kittens confused, but we are all on the same page now! i kept the name nova for the girl, and named the boy ares, because he is a destroyer of everything. seriously, hes a little fucker. but still so cute when hes sleeping.

they like laying on my synthesizers

nova is so cute, which is a good thing, because shes not all that bright...

ares in rare form: not being a prick

My Cairn Terrier chewed up my Super Mario Advanced 4 (SMB 3)...

Still love him though.
