Hide your dot is a tip :P. I love sniping did it for 6 years straight on tfc then just quit for two. Now it's been two years since my return and I lost all of my skill. I need a way better comp so I can play with higher settings and more people that way I can aim better without so much lag. Other than that the sniper owns.

Was hoping this topic would just be a base for tips. I was talking about turning on mouseaccl might help some players out, a lot of old TFC players, because it was default in TFC. Command is something like m_mouseaccel 1 =)

As you continue moving the mouse it becomes more sensitive (moves faster).

Pretty much if you "tag" an enemy and they don't die, a recticle revealing class and location forms around them that is viewable by the rest of your team.

All you have to do, is land a shot on a enemy. Once you've done that, a redbox will appear around them, and if they go behind a wall or something, a class icon will appear in the redbox. Very useful to tag a soldier from the battlements, retreat, charge your shot, and wait for him to come around the corner by watching his class icon move. I do it all the time! =) You can perfectly time your shot by just releasing it where he will be in the next second, and you know that because you tagged him and can see his icon. =)

So is your laser line (not the dot, the actual laser path) visible to all enemies or just enemy snipers?

You only see the laser line if the dot is really close to you. So if a sniper has a fix on you, you will see a laser and know that you are screwed.

Basically, if you see the sniper line, get the hell somewhere else quick.

I'll put together a sniper thing when I get a chance.

I'm trying to write a simple sniper script

bind "MOUSE1" "+attack"
alias sfire charge
alias charge "+attack; wait; alias sfire fire"
alias fire "-attack; wait; alias sfire charge"
alias superzoom1 "+attack2; sensitivity 1.5; bind MOUSE1 sfire; alias SZoom superzoom2"
alias superzoom2 "-attack2; sensitivity 3.5; bind MOUSE1 +attack; alias SZoom superzoom1"
alias SZoom superzoom1

bind "MOUSE2" "SZoom"

The concept is that the charge shot mode only works when in zoom mode and converts back to normal attack mode when not.

It works, but not well.... It seems that if I zoom in for the first time I need only one click and the charge works, but I need two clicks to zoom back out and by doing that the bind for mouse1 goes from +attack back to scharge and I'm zoomed out, next time I try to zoom it also takes two clicks.

Any idea why this behaviour is occuring?

Going to go test it out right now.

EDIT: Just tried it, I'm not sure why it's doing it, but man, 1.5 sensitivity, gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I felt like my mouse died. I play at 9.5 =) Well, I'm not sure what you can do to try and fix it.

you could just adjust that number in relation, try hosting a server with just you in it and get confortable with what things look like at the distance you want.. by typeing sensitivity x in the console , then when you found one you like just apply it ... i need to do this too but the problem is, i cant stop playing lol

Oh of course, I know, I just forgot to edit the script before I execed it, assuming it would stay the same. Edited now, and still having that same problem he is.
