Sniper and radio tag stuff
So - as this seems to be one of the most heated issues with the community, was hoping to get an update on the balancing of it (if at all), what the testers think of it, if it looks like its good to go as of now etc. I think it's pretty cool, but it's def. one of those things that has to be pulled off perfectly else it will mess up balance.
2 specific questions about it - does the "tagged" person know he is tagged, and whats the duration again? |

You know you're tagged, an icon pops up on your HUD. And so far, it can't be removed but the timer is supposed to be reduced.

i dont see the big deal about it. the chances are it affects O more than D, and playing O, you're gonna die frequenctly anyway?

EMPs should destroy tags. Being electronic devices, it only makes sense.

Yeah but I think your tag will wear off before you find an engineer and get him to EMP you..

It's really not that big a deal. I didn't like it when Jiggles first suggested it on the forums but it's a pretty cool feature in practice and not powerful enough to be unbalancing.

On the other end of the spectrum is it really that useful?
I mean, i havnt played sniper in years (cursed configs), but i remember it was all basically just twitch. You could basically kill someone in one hit anyway, so why bother tagging. The only situation in which its useful is when youre surprised (presumably), in which case youre probably going to die anyway Anyone care to explain? |

Qui, its more useful for say, multiple offense. You snipe one but two more are coming so you instead of maybe getting a half charged shot, you tag them both, and it does help. You can guess the route they're coming if you're even half familiar with the map you're on. |

to be honest, i deem it more useful than just popping them into bits, as it fucks up their run somewhat.

Actually, it could work toward's O's advantage couldn't it? I was just thinking that it could be distracting to the D. Say you have two different O's comming to the flagroom two different ways, just about every ones going to be focused on the tagged player...right? Well, maybe that would just be me. I get distra.....oh hey a nickle!
