Right click desktop > Arrange Icons > uncheck show desktop icons.

I put the icons to visible just for the screenshot. I never have them that way.
My Screen resolution is 2560x1024 on Dual Monitors. I probably ought to get StyleXP again and change the look, but just about every time I do that something happens and I have to reformat and I lose it all again...

EDIT: Why in the heck is everyone using friggin Vista...

Because Vista isn't as shitty as all the people say ? If you have the system for it why not use it ? It's slick and shiny!

Honestly? Because I don't want to pay that much for something that only looks better. If you can give me a list of REAL features that you were willing to spend that much money for then by all means, tell me. As far as I know, it looks better, ... and is SUPPOSE to be more secure, but during beta the only thing I noticed as far as security is concerned is 400 million popups that black out my entire screen and ask "ARE YOU SURE!? OMG? YOU COULD DESTROY EVERYTHING IF YOU ARENT SURE!!! Yes or No?". Aside from that I noticed it ran slower. My system can now easily handle Vista, but like I said, I just don't see any real improvement...

(As soon as you or whoever answers this, everyone back to posting desktops!!! :P)
