As with any genre, talk to someone who knows music and you'll discover theres a huge amount of good stuff waiting to be uncovered. Every genre...well except adult contemporary

I have shit loads of power metal, yet its funny that one of my favorite power metal songs is by Nobuo Uematsu, and strangely enough, its the only song he has like this, to the best of my knowledge.

If you like Blind Guardian, you might want to check out this band. The vocalist is very similar. Also, the Persuader vocalist has a side project with a couple of the members from Blind Guardian called Savage Circus. Awesome stuff.
