Yeah, but there's a drawback.... only a few hundred compatible Apps, compared to the thousands for other tablets.

Which is why HP is dropping them, and why the prices are so low.

Seen that it was for 100 bucks, and I considered it, but if something goes wrong with it there is no way to get it fixed or get a replacement and there are going to be no updates as far as I know for the OS. (though I know there is a way to swap out the OS)

Also they are sold out of them in Canada.

TBH, outside of buying an iPad just because, I bet all of these big name tablets have a good amount of life to them, which makes them all fairly even until you get to the features available. And for $150 for the 32GB, I would use the thing casually for a few years. I spent that much on my phone, which has to last 2 years because I'll be damned if I'm paying $500 for another one.

Suffice to say, I enjoy the tech, but I won't use it enough to merit the full cost of using one, which is why I want the cheap HP. And besides, I'll just make a TouchDroid out if it if WebOS dies off completely.

ya to me a tablet at current regular prices are just way too pricy for what you get. I would rather pay those prices for a laptop and get something just as powerful, that can hold a lot more.

It might not be as lite or have a touch screen, or last as long on the battery, but I can hold 10 to 100 times as much stuff, do things just as fast and connects up to most of the same stuff they can.

I did see this video that caught my eye, its a little review of a bunch of different tablets.

I like the thrive with all the extras it has (full size SD card slot and HDMI, and user replaceable battery), but the battery length is pretty low.

You also have to remember that they can most likely support the Android operating system, and its only a matter of time before someone ports it over. If I get the chance to get one for around $100, I will take it!

I assumed there would be another batch shipped, they couldn't have liquidated their entire stock so quickly, but I bet they're just going to up the price and hope to pull the same tactic Amazon is aiming for: high apps sales.

So... HP is claiming they are doing another production run and are going to sell more tablets, but they won't guarantee they will be for the firesale price. And actually, they're going to allow retailers to sell them for whatever they feel adequate.

I was going to get one, and throw android on it... but I couldn't find any after the whole craze happened. There's TONS of craigslist for 3x the price now though.

Yeah, I think HP just nixed it all. They did an OS update a while back and then nothing. I wanted one, still do, but I don't want one bad enough to pay more than $200 for it.
