HourPitores Texture Pack

Hey, first post here. Ive been linked to here cause apperantly there are a lot of people here that might be interested in new textures ? Specially textures with ctf teamcolors ?

Ive just finished my newest texture pack and Im pimping around a bit.

HourPitores is a semi realistic Tech-Industrial themed pack of about 80 1024 resolution textures and is available in a JPG gallery, a UT1 UTX, a UT2004 UTX and a Half Life 2 VTF directory. In the compiled game versions of Pitores all shaders have been set. Footstep sounds have been added and correct compression has been used as well as other misc settings

The pack is mainly made up out of dark red, yellowish gray and some yellow lines but also features some blue variants of some textures so I hope it'll work well for example CTF or other teambased gametypes. The colors are subtle on purpose and the bright yellow gray is there to make sure the textures light better. The brighter a surface the easier it will be to light (brightness and shadow wise). The less saturated the textures the easier they will be to color by lighting. Too saturated colors would also be too flashy and not stylish enough

The pack is free for all non commercial mod and level use as long as you credit me somewhere. Im also always interested in seeing what people made with it so feel free to email me and show me

Along with the map three UT1 example maps have been created showing off these textures as well as textures from my previously released HourIndusX texture pack.

If Some people here tell me that the texture are useful I can host them for a bit.
It would help if you were active around the boards...

Nice textures it would seem
one thing, if you make a website with popup window links, use JavaScript:void(0); instead of # in the a href=" " tag.. This way the screen doesn't always scroll up to the top!

Looks quite nice, thanks for the heads-up. We'll take a look through them and see if there's anything that suits the mod.

They look pretty shocking in the small previews but when you look at the full size you see that they're pretty damn good. Might use some of em tbh.

Oh and perhaps you can make a few blend textures too using the grass some of the other floor/ground textures. Just an idea.

One criticism I would make is that 1024x1024 is not the standard texture size, and if several of the textures are used in one map, it'll eat up texture memory like crazy. The standard size for HL2 textures is 512x512, so I'd suggest rejigging the pack for HL2 with the lowered size. Only a relatively small amount of textures for HL2 are 1024x1024, and those are typically textures designed for very large brushes (like rock walls and stuff like that).

Thanks for the heads up, its greatly appreciated. Btw defrag better to have source images at the higher res of 1024, and then resize in photoshop than be stuck with 512 size.

I particularly like the cloth textures.

Hey its Addicted to Morphine from the Snarkpit. Glad to see you made your way here, I think the textures will find some good usage here at FF.
