1) nice to see the update nearing

2) why wasnt concing not more prominent in the video? I think there was only concing out of the shaft on 2fort.

3) will the jaws sound play out of the sent itself or is it something that only the engie hears, or is it something that emanates from the engie, kind of like "theres a spy sappin my sentry!" in tf2.

4) cap points: wasnt this a major frustration point from the FF community towards tf2? being too non-ctf? so why the seeming embracing of cap points (cz2 and the new map) now?

Actually, the blue team shows up above the point #, and red shows up below. It's a little annoying when in spec mode, because you can't see the blue icon unless you turn off the hud.

In reality, though.... you shouldn't be sitting in spec mode unless you are recording. You should be playing.

Believe me, I was skeptical about the "no flags needed" concept.... until I played it. It works very, VERY well.

Concing hasn't really changed much, which is why I think it wasn't shown off too much.

As for the "ping" of a spy nearby... I believe everyone can hear it. It comes from the SG itself, and gets louder/faster(in other words, indicates) when the spy gets closer to the SG.

No one was really hating TF2 for cmd points... except for the fact that many beloved CTF maps being converted to cmd points. There are many CTF maps in FF. Many more are being made. We are balancing between the gameplay of ALL forms of the game, CTF, CMDpoint, Hunted style, and AvD.

We have lots of people who enjoy playing non-CTF maps, so we decided to work on some for 2.1. There is another new map, which I will not describe beyond saying that I was really hoping it would be ready for 2.1... which has a gameplay style all of it's own. Green Mushy is the mapper for this one, and he's done a fantastic job so far. It will be included with 2.2(or whatever we decide to call it.)

2) Because it's not a new feature and the purpose of the video was to demonstrate some of the new stuff in 2.1

3) The jaws sound doesn't exist in the game, it has been added in the video for some reason. It was suggested it should be removed not to create confusion but I guess that wasn't done. The only sound you will hear is the sonar sound.

4) A frustration? I dunno... all I can say is that the new system is much more fun and that's the only thing that counts imo.

Plus, it's a bit different than the command points mechanic in TF2, where you have to cap the points in sequential order, the mechanic here allows you to go for any command point.

hi, i love the big logo of ff in steam free modes list , but i think the small one is kinda blank, i think that it would get more attention if the small logo would be = to the big one.

This looks very impressive from the video. I never got into FF after playing loads of TFC. This makes me want to give it another try. And getting on the Steam mods database is great, looks like 2.1 is the right time to do it.

Just a thought, i have an "Extra Copy" of HL2 that i can gift to someone on Steam. Maybe some other people do as well. Could the FF team do anything with those? Maybe some competition for people that cant play FF because the dont have HL2.

Well, color me impressed. I've been an avid TF2 fan since it came out, but I never played TFC. You may have just converted me.

This looks a lot faster and more in-depth. Should be a good time

The jaws sound was in for comedic effect?

The sonar just pings when a cloaked Spy is nearby. The ping's pitch gets higher as time goes by.

And all of the maps got some work done. ff_monkey was quite literally rebuilt. It *looks* the same, but it's more optimized. Textures are aligned much better. It just looks more betterer overall.

I understand but obviously it's confusing. You can't really tell from watching the video if the jaws sound really is in the game or not. No biggie anyways, just saying, it's confusing

Pitfall and Tiger are also getting officially released for sure.

There might be 1 or 2 more maps but that's gonna be decided last minute style.

i didnt feel like reading the whole thread so i dont know if someone already mentioned this...

I really like the updates that are going on and 2.1 is looking real smooth.

However the video didnt really focus on 'how to' bhop and it doesnt explain the physics of what concussion grenades do.. To me and you it may not be important. But to a rookie noob who doesnt know what it means to fly across the screen, this may be a problem. I say you revise the video just a bit. But thats just me..

Also maybe have a guy in the video who actually knows how to bhop lol.

Also where was the explanation about trimping????

When I was a noob in TFC, and I saw people flying all over the place..... I asked "How did you do that?!"

Believe it or not, people actually took the time to explain it to me, rather than say shit like, "HAHAHAHA!! N00b can't conc! Fuck off noob! I'm too 1337 for your ass!"

Try taking a few minutes to show new players the mechanics of what you are doing. (This is directed at EVERYONE who knows how!!) You don't have to set up a private server and run a class or anything, but at least take a minute or two to show someone what you are doing, and explain to them that practice makes perfect.
