foamy your problem is on your setup "pay very close attention to where your loading your files from" I recommend doing all the steps over from that tutorial.

I had the same exact problem before. You open up a FF map in Hammer and when you go to click on any of the windows, it closes. When I wiped my system and restarted everything from scratch everything now works except for the compile process. The 'vbsp' command will not run at all, but 'vvis' and 'vrad' will work fine, so I have to keep compiling the map at the command-line (which is faster anyway).

So, to sum it up for you:

0. If you haven't already, setup Hammer to work with FF (don't forget -engine ep1 for SourceSDK's launch options)
1. Make a copy of gameinfo.txt (name it gameinfo.old)
2. Open up gameinfo.txt and where it says 'SteamAppId', replace '215' with '440'
3. Open up Hammer with FF selected, open up a map or start a new one and your golden.
4. After compiling, make sure you exit out of Hammer. Rename gameinfo.txt to gameinfo.new, and then rename gameinfo.old to gameinfo.txt and than you'll be able to launch Fortress.
5. To get back to Hammer, reverse. Rename gameinfo.txt to gameinfo.old and gameinfo.new to gameinfo.txt

One question that I don't think has been asked yet. Does hammer work in any mod for hl2 whatever. I couldn't even get hl2 to open for hammer so I got pissed deleted the source sdk folder restarted steam let sdk reinstall, followed the tutorial and bam it worked. And this was all after steam told me the game cache was good. So don't always believe ot when you verify game integrety through steam.

If you have anything saved in sdk thats not in your FF directory I would back it up before I deleted the sdk folder. When all else fails start from scratch.

Sorry guys but I am annoucing that my mapping for FF is over.

No more maps from me guys, tryed my best to get hammer working but now i dont even play FF anymore.

After Learning some c# in school, and knowing how mapping works now. It was very easy to set hammer back up. (Following dirrections)Tbh i gave up, I was young immature. I'll Post what was

It's interesting how much I have grown since I've been on this form. It's been a year. Its funny to look back and say, "Wow WTFH was I thinking back then." heh kind of cool.

Can't wait to put the architect, and detail into foamy2. Also, I would also like to thank all of you. For sticking to this map, and being so patient through my noob state. It's been awhile, been so long I forgot my password and email to my recent account. So this is a fresh start.

Glad to be back, thanks for all your support.
