Mouse5 gren2 but thats really the only unique configuration I have.

Mouse sensitivity at 4.262

Isn't mouse sensitivity largely based on mouse type and windows settings? I have mine set so a move across 2-3 inches will make it do a 180. Helps my accuracy a lot. And I've probably built 3 systems where sensitivity all stayed the same (same mouse though). Now I used to use an intellimouse and sensitivity would jump to about 5.5-5.8 but I've been using the MX510 at 4.262 for about 2 years now.

Sorry if any of this has been covered, I'm too lazy to read the whole thread.

I was arrow keys for most games, except when I need 100 keys at fingers reach (i.e. Swat 4).

That being said, I was a bit torn apart whether to vote for arrow keys, or completely bonkers/uncommon, as I use a ball mouse, and ball mouse users are a rare breed these days.

Long live the ball mouse!

10-15 sensitivity for me, I tweak as necessary.

Moving the mose horizontally across a mousepad should see me doing at least 5 full rotations.

There is no solid measurement for me as I use mouse acceleration.

My sensitivity is such that one twitch of the forearm will turn me around exactly 180 degrees.

It just feels so natural after all this time

While I can see the advantage mouse acceleration would have in theory... in practice, it's shit.

It doesn't hinder my aiming one bit as I can control the mouse :P

I have it on minimal acceleration anyway.

If I disable mouse acceleration, my aim totally goes to shit. Isn't having it turned off supposed to help you?

I'm honestly surprised so many people use the arrows. I used the arrows waaaay back when I first started playing TFC and immediately found wasd so much easier to use. It's got access to so many more keys and all the numbers as well. Although as a flagrunner other than grenades you don't use much other than the mouse, mousewheel, and direction keys.

Turning mouse acceleration off does indeed help your aim once you get used to I suppose, because the distance that you move your mouse on the pouse pad is the distance the crosshair will travel in-game. Whereas with mouse acceleration on, the distance of the crosshair depends on the speed at which you move your mouse. But that shouldn't be a problem if you can control the mouse

arrows and inverted mouse. these were the default options for duke nukem 3d which was my first ever keyboard + mouse combination fps. i could allways go wasd but i'm just stubborn like that i guess. oh and jumping happens with mouse2.

edit: a bit more detailed tf controls if anyone is interested:

arrows: move
mouse1: attack
mouse2: jump
mousewheel click: reload
shift: gren2
ctrl: gren1
end: crouch
keypad 0: zoom (this would be use if the game had this option)
backspace: throw flag
numpad: messagebinds
the left extra mouse buttons are class specific stuff (detcpak, disguise etc)
the right extra mouse buttons are usually ventrilo / ts2 stuff

if the game requires more complex controls, control is usually weapon mode 2, numpad 4 is prone, numpad 0 is use, shift is run. either that or control is prone and home is weapon mode 2. delete and page down are for looking around corners if that is available.

so there, i swayed a bit out of topic. sorry.

There's a disproportionate amount of successful left-handed sportsmen/women in particular sports (particularly at the lower levels). Left-handers are more difficult to go up against in many walks of life because the vast majority of people are themselves right handed and used to dealing with other righties. Being a left-handed dude is a genuine advantage at times (makes up for the tin-openers, I guess).

I seem to recall that there was some kind of link between lefties and violence, too. The more violent a country, the more likely lefties are to survive as they're more adept at winning fights. Ever fight or spar a left-hander? It's awkward when you're used to sparring with a right-hander.
