Seems very likely.
Dospac just wishes he had a dedicated PR team (ahem).

They never have had one. Unless you can classify a medkit/syringe as a melee weapon. |

They have a melee weapon in TF2 -- the Bonesaw.

hitting you with a non-working bonesaw would probably still cut you.

Intriguing. Yay, air control! Now we just need to trick the game into not registering a landing and we're gold!

There may be air control, but that doesnt mean that you gain speed by using it. The gain in speed is the main goal in bhop. Air control was just a bonus skill that needed to be learned and its kinda useless without concs.
I know rocket jumps are still in. And dont get me wrong, I loved the rj skillmaps but its not much compared to concing. |

Nice email exchange.
He points out one thing that's particularly important to note -- understanding and ease of entry does not have to equate to ease of mastery or lack of skill. This is the design formula that needs to be used in this generation of competitive titles. Back to the NS example here, while yes, it's a brilliant game, a design differential needs to take place to really make the game flow easier. Public games should be easy to pick up and get into, and I should understand what's going on. That doesn't mean that commanders should be entirely removed or teamwork elements should be destroyed, but those things should be redesigned to make a new game with the same idea -- one that's easy to understand as a newb, but satisfying to play at a clan level. |
