Looking for players to play TFC style TF2

You probably have no idea what I'm talking about from the title of this thread, but listen to this.

There is this mod called TF2C, which adds TFC elements to TF2 such as bunnyhopping, conc jumping, grenades. You can modify your Fov and generally do most TFC stuff.

There are a bunch of TFC maps already ported, there is: Openfire, bases, Destroy, Mortality, Monkey etc.

We basically need some people to test and to play it in a competitive environment, 2v2, 4v4, 8v8 pickups etc, but there are no skilled players who play on the public server (considering it is TF2 and all).

So we are looking for players who are willing to try a few rounds of TF2C to help test it and to try it out.

If you are willing to play, add me on steam at

I would like to see some pics or even vids of the ported tfc maps.

the whole thing sounds interesting and I will certainly give it a go once I return home.

Pretty gay that they just jacked the map. If they didn't give credit (doesn't seem they did), that's just plain lame.

Ever stop to think that people will play that on TF2C, and wonder where that map came from, find out, and come try FF?

Those that already know, probably play TF2 and FF to start with. Best thing to do, is play it and educate the TF2 only players.

The only thing that bothers me, is if permission to convert the map over wasn't requested.

I´ve played tf2c and its pretty fun in a pub envoirment, and it kinda works in a avd map and stuff, but tf2c fails in ctf, because the sentrys in tf2 are uber powerfull its impossible as a medic or scout to nail gun it, because u dont have nail guns, the only class that can put a sg are the heavy classes, thats what ruins it.

and i kinda agree with iggy point too

I'll have to check this out then. While I don't like unbalanced games, I've been used to the sentries in FF being absolute shit for so long it would be refreshing to see them actually have some bite again.

it's a shame to have to say this, but use of other people's work or clear derivatives of their work is illegal unless you get their consent (if it's not already given in the release conditions).

so the obvious question is who made ff_openfire and was his permission given? also, what other content has TF2C taken from other people and has permission been given for all where required?

it's not ok to just say that in this case you think it's not important cos FF's a free mod etc - afaik the exact same legal principles would apply as if you'd taken any other content (e.g. maybe such as a game you have to pay for) and distributed it yourself.
