Half Life < 30min
A guy named Spiderwaffle made a new speedrun for Half-life.
He managed to finish the game in less than 30 minutes. http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...39471476323322 |

yeah I saw that, very nice use of the grenade speedgain (couldnt do it now ) and strafing. I thought the bunnyhop looked automated (_special maybe?) but maybe it wasn't.

very entertaining :)
atleat this is done in good taste whereas the hl2 speedrun was one of the lamest things i have ever seen. first they write a bunnyhop script so that they don't need to master the technique and after that someone discovers that you can fly around with that script while jumping on objects you are carrying. que over an hour worth of footage of assholes flying through maps. talk about a fucking letdown. Also, the HL2 speedrun is, in my opinion, one of the finest speedruns ever put together. It's especially good if you know what all they tricks they're doing are, and how they work.

11 minutes -> 11 minutes 12 seconds is just wow
EDIT: By the looks of it this speedrun is using a bunnyhop mod to remove the speedcap like in the old days. There's a whole different section of HL1 Speedruns using that mod in the SDA. |

The thing that sort of surprised me was the boost he got from the Gauss Gun. I don't remember it being that strong...

Was a nice watch, but from what I saw I think he took this in parts to make it into perfection...
"This run was done through many small segments in aim of achieving a high level of perfection. The final time from start to the death blow on Nihilanth is 29:41." It would have been awesome to actually see this done in one go Nevertheless, I watched the whole thing and it looked good. |

doing it in one run would make it about half as long again. As to the HL2 speedrun comments, lol. I see what you mean, and personally I would have prefered to do a more entertaining speedrun. But there isnt much point in making a "speedrun" if you arent going to try and get the best time possible, makes the whole run pointless.

well it looks like he sometimes crashes into something but then he just clips through something sometimes... and that its not done in one run makes it feel cheap.
