2fort?
I personally am bored with 2fort. However, I don't think it's wise to ignore the most popular map in TFC. Maybe you guys already have it half mapped but haven't released anything yet. But I have a feeling that it can't be good for a strained FF community if by the time both TF2 and FF are out, FF is missing 2fort.

The FF staff currently has many maps in the works that we have not seen any screen shots yet. 2fort is one of those maps. So to answer your question, yes they are making a new and improved 2fort !!

I love 2fort! Didn't it say in the dev journals that they performed the play tests on 2fort? I wouldn't worry about it.. rock2 and cz2 are two other personal favorites..

2fort is just a very good, easy to learn, simple, yet complex map which teaches well the tennants of the game. It makes me think of the "simple to learn yet difficult to master" tennant which is so prevalent in many popular games. 2fort just has all those elements that make a good map. That's why so many people like it.

2Fort is a map that defines TFC. You can't leave it out.

2fort, etf_forts, q3f_forts, or whatever version of forts you play is always a fun time. Just like "Mach", "Well", and other familiar maps.

I think that 2fort will be a weight, chained to the ankles of FF and holding it down. 2fort is simple, I'll grant that, but it's also crappy and boring. With extra emphasis on crappy. It's not as bad as de_dust but I think leaving 2fort out of FF would be a revolutionary idea that will perhaps lead people to play *gasp* other maps and even other game types.
I know that 2fort will be included in FF, though, so I guess this is all moot. |

It's really not that boring or crappy. If you walk around it, and really really look at it from a mappers perspective, everything is pretty much perfectly placed and thought out.
Additionally, some areas are really cool looking (ie. the basement ceilings). |

Forts, Well and other classic maps are unpopular in ETF because they are not really compatible with etf movement. Forts has too many edges, Well .. I don't know what, it just feels broken in etf. I look forward to the day Don.ids ports his etf_spring to FF. This map shoots CTF to a new level with its pretty original design combining very open areas (base yard, pit, flagroom) small ones (all the corridors, basement being open and close at the same time, water path, main way). It introduces just literally a lot of "vertical" gameplay. We need more japancs, springs and spiderx |
