Public or Clan

Haven't seen one of these polls yet, but would be interesting to get an overview on what type of TFC you play the most. Over 1000 members now.. would be nice to see some big figures

So.... what/where do you mainly play your fix of TFC. A Public server or Clanned games/clan servers only?

Well, I have never been in a clan match, mainly because of my poor lag AND the fact I was trying to join usa clans which had a -7 time difference. I dont know, iI might have enjoyed clan games as well. Although I still think that the pubs' diverse players' skills should be interesting...

But nowadays I play like a pubber in a clan server that pubs most of the time too...

I basically only play clan games now, i do occasionally go on public servers for a bit of a change.

I'm not sure how things are today as I haven't booted up my TFC in about a year now, but I mainly played on public servers that were run by clans. Doing so gave me the best of both worlds, allowing me to keep up with clanned players while still being able to snipe the less predictable public ones.

I play most of my games on clan owned servers, but not during matches (of course) Usualy because I'm not in any clans, just friends with all of them

When I was in a clan, I played mostly clan matches. Now that I'm retired, I play the occassional pub from time to time.

i jsut started playing again this week but due to my bad lag i am stuck on west coast servers i poing 250+ to east coast so that doesn't work out for matches and school adn work doesn't help ethier.

I did play a few Maps on a clannish style WP server recently though and had the most fun for a while , pity i tend to suck a bit

I'm all about pubbing. I join in on a scrim if its just for fun from time to time.

Definitely pubs. I was in a couple of clans for a while, but I just don't have the time to commit to several hours a week, every week, at the same times.

Overall, I reckon a good pub match is more fun than clan-style, anyhow, and I'm certainly playing for *fun* over and above any other reason.

I always preffered the clan environment, things are just that much more fast paced and you get a sense of real achievement when you accomplish something - be it a nice coast to coast cap or a long string of kills as a defender. I find pub servers lacking in this respect as generally the teams don't work as a unit and it's simply easier (unless its 9v9 ovd ugh).

Recently though I havne't had the time for clan matches so I've been sticking to 2fort pubs. MMMMM sniper

I've played on clan servers with a few clan members now and then, but being ordered around a map by some frigging teenager that thinks he knows the game better because he's clanned does get on my tits just a bit.

I prefer running around wherever, whenever.

That pretty much sums it up for me as well. I kinda lost interest in pubbing back before steam was released and have pubbed rarely since then. The golden days of pubbing for me was back from the release of TFC to about 3 years ago when there were still a lot of people playing in pubs and it was actually still possible to recruit people off of a pub.

As Vanquish said, I just found the clanning environment much more exciting and team oriented. I got in with a great group of guys back in the beginning of my career and played as a clan with many of those guys up until this past year. I found it much more enjoyable coming up with a defense that works and executing that defense with an organized team rather than running around a 2fort pub doing stuff by myself cause everyone else on the team is trying to play soldier or sniper on D with the occasional HWguy on O.

However, to each their own. Don't take this as a bash to the pubbers. I am just saying why I like to clan more than pub.
