It'll be cool when people write stuff in OpenGL and include Linux binaries. Then things will all run very fast and I don't need 8GB of RAM.
In the mean time, I need another 7GB of RAM... |

Also, I'm still trying to figure out how you are coming to your conclusion about hardware not being powerful enough right now to run Vista well. Apart from DX10 video cards not being out yet what else is missing? |

I don't know that I'd describe Vista as being a bloated XP with a fancy GUI. IIRC Vista is supposed to be a "from scratch" build that is supposed to address alot of the security failings of prior OS's. Personally Microsofts track record continues to ring in my ears and I am very skeptical of their ability to produce something that is truly secure on their own. They defy standards and their development philosophy stifles innovation. They are masters of imitation and they are not well skilled at that.
I am predicting at least a year of pain post release of Vista. |

It's all lies!
But that beside: Looks cool but still think that speed will be a problem. To fix speed you need new hardware and new hardware costs lots of money. While I do need a new computer soon, I'm not willing to drop a thousand dollors on just a video card... |

Does 1,000 dollors equal around $200 American dollars?

I'm afraid to upgrade right now, because shit's moving so fast. You buy a card and it's been trumped in a month.
