He's referring to FF. He doesn't realize TF2 is being discussed.

Death only costs one thing in an FPS -- time. How much time is variable, from "I have to run back" to "I can't respawn again," I highly doubt something on the lower end of those extremes will make or break a game. Another indicator that TF2 is a full redesign. |

No, I wasn't referring to FF, I was referring to TF2.
Well, I was estimating that they would have that feature since, Isn't TF2 run on Hl2? So wouldn't Lua be available for modding? Oh, right...TF2 is still in development, sorry fanboys to piss you off, I'll leave now.

With that said, it still doesn't mean there won't be a cvar that can be changed to change the duration of the delay. Just because it is one way in one review does not mean that is the way it is set in stone. Please people. Wait till the game comes out to spread your cries of DDDDOOOOOOOOOMMMM. At least limit the DDDOOOOOOOMMM spreading to stuff that has been confirmed by the TF2 devs (i.e. no grenades). |

Well, TF2 certainly hasn't advertised any Lua functionality.
And even if its Lua functionality is similar to FF's, that still limits it to map-based, which would mean spawn times can only change for individual maps. A server variable sounds way more likely. Also: can you believe people are trying to get rid of 'nades in FF? Man. That just ain't gonna work without a massive overhaul. Also also: FF doesn't have a respawn delay except on /kill suicides.

I really can't imagine a TF game working with respawn delay and no nades.
I mean, there are plenty of games with a respawn delay and no nades, but none of them are TF... So anyway I don't have much hope for TF2 anymore. Still gonna play it though, once I've had some fun with portal and EP2.
