Quake 4 Fortress!
Hey guys, hope its ok to post this here. I don't wanna walk over anyones toes, but I'm a FF fan and support you guys, have even posted a link to you guys on our first news post. But I wanted to let you all know, since your all TF fans like I, that Q4F has opened to the public.

I wonder if this will go farther than d3 fortress. I vaguely remember there being too many issues with the engine, making large mp maps impossible or something.

the problem was with Doom3's 8 player max muliplayer. it really flopped and there was nothing we could do about it but wait for better game, we were hoping for a game that used the Doom3 engine that would do well and support at least 16 players. and Quake4 is just that.
So, i more then anybody hope that it works out, because i got alot of crap for putting D3F on hiatus. I don't want that to happen again... infact it won't happen again, no matter what i have to do about it. :P Oh, and thx for the compliments guys, I'm glad you guys approve so far. |

Is it going to be a port of q3f (which is a port of qwtf) to q4?
Or we're going to see some changes? Anyway it looks great, and it's always good to have another fortress game |

So is this all ported over from D3F development? The maps seem really dark. Like... really dark.

16 is okay for clan matches, but I like bigger games sometimes :/
looks pretty good, though. Doom3 was a disappointment, but Quake IV is looking quite good. |

no, we're not porting any single mod... we're doing our own thing, so it'll be a new version to TF.
As for the maps, those are in Doom3... lighting and textures will drastically change. won't be so dark. And yes, much of it is being ported over from what we had completed for D3F, but the content on the front page is new content. I'm really glad you guys are being so supportive, maybe our 2 teams can work closer together in the future for the better good of TF and the 2 seperate games we're modding under. The sad this is... I played ETF for months, played in clans, made some maps, ran TWL league, and helped run a fansite for the mod... and they deleted my post and started dumping on me on another forum. So I really appreciate everyones support here. |

dunno why everytime i play a TF quake mode it feels too "cartoonish" q3f and etf actualy made me feel sick when playing... hope q4f wont have these problems

ya know i remember when UT2K3 came out and there was a group working on a fortress mod and they never made it before 2K4 came out. still no fortress mod. ive been waiting a long time, i ve been half tempted to play TFC again even though i got so burnt out on it playing so much
