Finally going to do a Mame Cabinet...
Anybody who was around here about a year and a half ago might remember that I posted a thread on here about building/restoring a mame cabinet. I asked a couple of questions, but in the end never ended up doing it.
Well, I just bought an old Marvel Vs. Capcom cabinet (although I think it was converted from a RoboCop) for fifty bucks at a sports/entertainment center fifteen minuets from our house. The thing is a mess (no T molding, some slight wood damage), and the guy who sold it to us is gonna pull the game PCB out before we take it, but it came with my preferred setup of two joysticks with six buttons each, and it was only fifty bucks, so it was a pretty good deal in the end, and I think I can restore it with time and effort. So, does anybody here have some experience with this sort of thing? I have very little wood working experience (shop class in middle school), but I think I'm knowledgeable enough to do the electronics side of it. I don't have any pictures of it yet except for on my cell phone.

IDk if you can use those joysticks. You might have to replace them. There are webistes dedicated to setting up such things. You might be able to use the joysticks if you get a special PCI card.
However, I haven't research Mame cabinets in a VERY VERY long time... |

Yea, there are a bunch of ways to use real arcade sticks and buttons with a PC. The way I'm looking at is to solder the wires to cheap logitech game pads. There's also keyboard encoders that can be used as well.

Go here and post down in the Arcade Coin-Op's section. You'll find lots of help there.
