Problem with Hammer

Hey, Whenever I try to compile my map i get an error saying

"The Command Failed. Windows reported the error: "The System Cannot Find the File Specified."

Anyone know how to fix this. It's happening for every map I make now

umm

i think something similar to this happend to me, when i test a map it says "coudlnt find file "nameofmap" and this it just stays there. well the problem is that you used the "playerstartdeathmatch" spawn thing instead of the "playerstart" one . u only use deathmatch one after you make the playerstart one

I had that the other day. No idea why. Looked at the messages appearing in the compilation box as well, found it said cannot copy xxxx.bsp (I thought they were created upon map compile)

Then got the windows error box, cleared that and it took me into my map.. but not the one I'd been working on, but the one beofre I'd made any edits.
Wierd. No matter what I changed in the map on Hammer, when Run-ing it, non of my changes were there and it still loaded up an older map version.

If there is a problem while compiling your map (leaks, etc.) the BSP will not be created. Hammer then pops up a windows error like the one you mentioned when it goes to copy the BSP to the Mod directory before launching HL2.

Sometimes these errors occur very early on in the compile. Scroll up in the output window and make sure there wasn't an error during compilation.

Not sure if this is your problem, but I've run into this myself.

That means you have to re-configure the compile settings to copy to the directory desired, or like me if your so lazy, take the .bsp out of the folder its in (wherever u specified it to go) and copy to the \maps folder.
