First the music companies don't want to give us free stuff, then suddenly the gaming industry doesn't either. Bastards.

Quote:
-ragdoll dismemberment with added gore
How is this monumental?
Quote:
-incendiary ammunition
This video in question seems different than what I've read on the rumor-filled forums, maybe it'll pan out differently.
Quote:
-4 new characters with completely new dialogue
The most notable improvement but until we hear more, it could be voice acting and new models, nothing that we haven't seen in dozens of free mods, albiet not of this quality.
Quote:
-improved AI Director, now with better item factoring
Another marked improvement but something that could be done separately in a patch to existing material.
Quote:
-5 new campaigns in a completely different part of the country (imagine the assets)
Nothing remarkable about this except that Valve usually pays great attention to detail in their maps. There are quite a few WIP and working campaigns available. And that was all done before the SDK was made public.
Quote:
-4+ added melee weapons
Patch worthy but they seem to have added a lot of extras to the melee, I'm sure they'll polish it greatly before release.
Quote:
-3+ added guns
Another small improvement.
Quote:
-an estimated 700 more zombies per campaign
This will be impressive if they do it with the current machines running the game in mind. I imagine that would require a massive reworking of the current version of Source. IF those zombies were added to the hordes you encounter, increasing the number spawned in a horde rather than the number of hordes spawned.
Quote:
-several new boss infected
I haven't seen any proof by screens or videos of several, just one. If they're as decent with their AI as the current ones, then that'll be pretty nice.
Quote:
-reworked existing bosses
Definitely a bonus, but like all AI, people will learn their weaknesses. I'm sure they're going to recondition them for versus mode as well; some of them are just worthless in certain maps unless you can put them to work in the proper situations. Happens to require teamwork and if you play versus often you know how lame many players can be.
Quote:
-camp prevention changes
I will be interested in seeing this. Probably not something that can be added to the current maps without serious reworking.
Quote:
-likely to be dozens of new normal zombie skins, including inflammable hazmat wearing zombies
All the new zombies are a testament to how much effort Valve is willing to put into this game. That and the rest of it add up to a decent addition to the L4D line. Everyone had to know they'd be marketing on the massive success of the original, and that doesn't make it a bad thing.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of trolls and just plain bitches who like to throw a fit, or throw things out of proportion, about different ideals of what a game should contain. I would pay $25-$30 for what I've seen so far, it's episodic, something that has been successful with the HL2 line so far. Why not make it that way? For what has been released, I don't feel it's worth the $50+ it will probably end up costing, like I happily pre-paid for L4D. And I feel damned sure that I've gotten my moneys worth out of it.

One thing is certain and that is everything you have seen will change in some way, big or small, into another fun game. All that remains to be seen is the price, for me anyways.

Yah Bingo, they sure were answered, by lots of speculation and rumor mills on the forums. Those links you posted, yep, lots of new shit in there.

Really, provide me something convincing and I'll give you a point. I've read a dozen different sites now presenting the same things. While looking good and sounding like it'll be fun, I don't see any reason for me to hop on the bandwagon with you. Yes, we have a differing opinion, but next time read my post before you start bitching at me.

Bingo, I also gathered they've added a sort of "reverse" cresendo event where you're supposed to reach the alarm and shut it off..

I'm not impressed, it just looks like L4D but with more Black People.

The whole underlying engine is changed. I fail to see how people seem to think that Valve is trying to rip people off.

Plus:
1) L4D will CONTINUE TO HAVE UPDATED SUPPORT
2) Valve always makes great games. I have no problem paying for a sequel.

I like the idea of SOF style dismemberment. That's a new feature, right?
I don't have L4D but I wasn't aware you could blow zombies heads off.

Yeah, you can pop heads, shoot off legs and arms but not after they've ragdolled. I hope they leave the ridiculous physics on the hunter and smoker, I love seeing them pinwheel across the dark sky when someone gets a well timed headshot.

I don't like zombie games that take place in broad daylight... I think that's the problem D:

Yeah, because the trailer sums up the whole game.

After you get used to the way the game plays, the scare factor is nonexistent. The thrill is in the rush of infected and a badly timed tank. A balanced versus game is top notch as well.

Games are only scary when enemy encounters are limited.

I didn't buy L4Dead because I didn't have the cash, so the sequel helps me as I will only be buying that.

However, my moral outrage goes to the fact that Left4Dead gets a sequel so quickly, yet we have to wait until after 2012 to see Episode 3.

@ Bingo - find better articles.

@ Paft - I can see it now, accusing Valve of championing the cause for extermination of the Mexican people due to the outbreak of the swine flu.
