New gaming forum

For those of you that are interested, I found a new forum that is looking for members - http://www.gamechaser.net/

I am not affiliated with this forum in any way, shape, form or fashion. They have a computer gaming section in which I have been posting a lot of stuff about FF.

If your interested in helping spread the word, sign up and post a couple of things about Fortress Forever - http://www.gamechaser.net/forum-33.html

Help me help this community. Almost daily I visit a series of forums and post about FF. I invite all of you to join me.

forums.gamernode.com

fortresstraining.com/forum/

talk-gaming.com/

thatonenation.com/forums/

gamechaser.net/

gameplaybb.com/forum/

http://forum.polbd.com/

I have several more forums saved on my home computer. This evening when I get home I will get those sites posted.

If the members of this community want FF to grow, it is up to us to beat the war drums and fly the war banners high. Every forum we visit should be flooded with post and threads on FF. This is the only way that people are going to learn about the game.

I am asking every member of this community to post an address to a gaming forum that you visit. I also ask that the members of this community support each other. If someone is a member of a gaming forum, join that forum and help that other person post about FF. It does not look good when only one person is waving the FF flag. But when a whole group of people are joined together, that will be our strength.

Over the past few months I have uploaded dozens of FF screen shots to photobucket. Its one thing to talk about FF, its another thing to show people what the game looks like.

Join me, join the forums I posted and spread the word about Fortress Forever.

Post the forums that you visit, and I will join you.

Thats ok bridget, I expect you to disagree with everything. If you want to sit on your hands and do nothing, that is fine with me. But lets not discourage people from promoting FF.

You were right about one thing, the grammar was incorrect. Its fixed now.

Promoting FF by flooding forums is not a good idea.

If you do not want to spread the word, then step aside. Because you are in the way of someone that does.

And I do not "flood" per say, its normal posting. I will usually post a couple of replies or threads a day. Over the course of a few weeks it adds up.

Maybe it would be better if your reactions on criticism wouldn't be so uptight? You have something stuck in your ass?!

Wow you guys are a rough crowd! He's just trying to help out.

I would post on more forums if I visited any others but this is the only one I visit on a daily basis.

On a side note, as everyone knows the most effective way to teach people is through example so i'm doing my part by playing FF everyday (except weekends when i'm busy with real life).

So do your part people! Get out there and play some FF!

Posting in other forums announcing things about FF in other general gaming forums and discussing it is a good idea.

There are a lot of general gaming forums out there. These are the forums that discuss sony, nintendo, xbox and pc gaming. A lot of times the PC gaming sections are slower then the rest. So just a few post about FF can go a long way.

Playing FF does not spread the word.

Posting a FF screen shot in forums spreads the word. Posting a link to a youtube video helps spread the word.

Here are another couple of forums I signed up on a few weeks ago.

And here is an example - gamechaser.net/thread-405-post-2858.html#pid2858

Go to that address and go up one post, that link is to my post.

I posted links to some videos and now that guy is asking where he can get the game from.

Steam is free, and if you have an ATI or NVidia video card you get 2 free games.
Thats wrong. The Free games you get from ATI or NVidia do not have the source sdk which is needed to run FF.

It may not spread the word to people who have never heard of FF but it certainly can be the deciding factor as to whether or not people join servers. There have been plenty of times that I fire up FF only to discover that there's nobody playing or maybe 1 or 2 people on a Euro conc server.

If I see someone in a server, i'm much more likely to join up and get a game going than if the servers are empty.

So no it doesn't spread the word but it certainly helps keep the community going.

I am seeing a lot of gamers that have never heard of Steam, much less the software developers kit (SDK). In some of the forums I have posted on, I started a thread asking if anyone uses steam. A majority of the people that replied have never heard of steam. When I explain it, they say something like - "oh, steam is like x-fire".

To entice people to download steam, I tell them they get two free games, but I also tell them that I am not sure if FF will work with those free games. I had forgotten about the SDK requirements. But most people do not know what the SDK is.

To be perfectly honest, trying to get people to play FF, when they do not have steam installed is really confusing to them. Its like a 3 step process.

1 - download and install steam

2 - have a game that has the source engine

3 - download and install FF.

Most people do not have the patience to do all of that. They just want one step, and that is download, install and play the game.

dont FLOOD the forums, but doing what you can to promote the game is good... Just dont be obnoxious about it. Personally, I dont force-promote, but whenever the chance presents itself ill chime in about the game.. I feel they still got some issues to resolve though before you can really promote though

It does... People flock to numbers. Its the same reason shitty rock bands have fans, they show video of them having a dumbass amount of fans lol.

I managed a semi-pro football team in Cali for a year taking over for someone else. Nobody attends semi-pro football games, but luckily for us it was possible and here's how. When we had a game, we had about 40 people show up. we crowded these 40 people together in the stands and when something happened in the game, we photo'd it so it looked like a packed stadium or whatever.

This increased attendance to 100... then 200... then 500... and for the champ game at the end of the year we managed to hit 1500 (probably half was from other teams that wanted to watch a champ. game) When people hear noise and see crowds, they become curious. Thats when you suck em in and never let them out. Its called a 'buzz-affect' and it is one of the best strategies to attract people to whatever it is ur doing

I think you got the right idea though. If we go onto other boards, with respect and without being obnoxious by it, we can create a buzz among other communities and it can have a snowball effect

Ya, I use commas alot
