Price of monitors

What is up with the price of monitors? Just a few years ago I could get a 17 inch for a little over $100. 4 years ago my wife and I caught a 17 inch on sale at office depot for $125. Now, a 19 inch is almost $200.

Even with inflation at 3% per year, a 17 inch monitor, should only be 130 - 140. Also taking into consideration that companies use off shore cheap labor, monitors should cost like $50.

So what has the price of monitors up?

i payed 269 i believe for my LG 19" 3000:1 2ms Flatron. i had the money so oh well...

I payed roughly $250 for my Samsung 22" SyncMaster 226BW 3000:1 2ms LCD...

I have a 15" CRT that was manufactured probably in the late 80s and loves to give me eye cancer. I picked this treasure up at goodwill for $3.50!

Well, with the mass production of LCD TV's, the steady decline in LCD monitor price has halted. With higher demand of LCD components, prices have begun to rise. Simple economics!

I can give you my 13", you pay the $3,000 shipping. It's cut up a lot though.
