There is a nice logo at the end of the FF Dustbowl Valley video. Someone should consider using that.

Alright, I cut back on the fancy stuff and left it pretty barebones, but it's under 30k.
128-color with 28 lossy or 64-color with 23 lossy REMOVED BECAUSE IT'S JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH :P EDIT: hmm I'm looking and I like the 128-color one more (of course...) but it doesn't look as sharp at the end...will that be a problem? I hacked out everything I possibly could without compromising the effect of the banner...pretty snazzy for under 30k if you ask me Last edited by o_psycnet; 12-08-2006 at 06:42 PM. |

My photoshop skills are way too limited, so I'll give some suggestions:
- Use TFC as a hook, the banner might be overlooked if it just has FF content. People who played TFC but have no idea about this mod may not be interested because they won't know it's the next version of TFC. - Make a banner that shows TFC evolve into FF. |

I theoretically *could* slow the middle/action frames down, I just need input...do people not see what happens to the poor poor medic? I like the effect, as that's what alot of TF is like...stop moving for 2 seconds and your ass is gibs. And yes, I could do a banner for yer site...just give me info and I'll whip it up when I'm inspired.
And yes, 30k is harsh, but definately do-able. You just need to cut corners and use visual techniques to save space. |

Banner...
This is just a thought, but...
If you're going to spend the money to get the banner put up for a month, you might be best off doing so as soon as the mod actually releases. This way, those people who decide to click on the advertisement will actually have something to download. As a corollary to this, you might want to narrow your requirements a bit. For instance: "Version 1: Download Now" ...is far more appealing than... "FF Will Come Out Soon!" ...in the eyes of Joe Random. |

exactly, they don't have to play from day one. It's much better to have a download now ad after the release.

I'm tossing around more ideas, but I would entertain any good ones from the public.
Tomorrow's lecutres will be boring, Thursday's are Photoshop days |
