Strange Issue with FF

Dear Staff @ FF Forums,
Lately, the past week or so I have been having strange issues with FF in game.
My blue and yellow pipes on demo seem darker, my screen doesn't get blurry when i am tranquilized by a spy , and my cloak looks all weird when i cloak.
It kinda looks like a white shell or something, i dunno.
here's a screen shot of me cloaked to show ya what I mean:

you can see like a white image of the gun when i move. I also dont see the watery effect when cloaked as well. Its really bizarre. I never had this issue till a week ago.
is there anything i can do to fix it?

Did you lower your graphics settings? Go to Options -> Video Options -> Advanced and see what Software and/or Hardware DirectX level is set to and let me know.

Weird. I'm not sure what else it could be. I know lower DirectX levels aren't able to render refractive textures like cloak, but dx8/9 should be fine.

Sorry I can't be of more help. If all else fails, try reinstalling FF.

To uninstall: Check your Start Menu for Fortress Forever. If it's there, run the Uninstall shortcut. If it's not there, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods and either delete the FortressForever folder or run FortressForever_uninst.exe. If you have any custom configs or you customized your crosshairs, you might want to back up your FortressForever\cfg folder and/or FortressForever\crosshairs.vdf before uninstalling.

After that, just reinstall.

Squeek, Its a DirectX issue. I was playin on OT last night and before i started i set my DX to 8. I could see spies cloaked from a mile away even in extreme dark places (gambits hollow) and while i moved as a cloaked spy it was exactly as silverfox is describing it. It gave me an extreme advantage. except for playing against rat (hes a pain in my ass lol)

Not sure how this could be fixed but it can be an exploitable bug. like i said, i saw a couple guys from accross the entire yard while they were cloaked plain as day.
