cl_spawnweapon_spy for tranq gun?

I want the tranq gun to be my spawn weapon as spy, but I can't get it to work with "cl_spawnweapon_spy". I've tried:

cl_spawnweapon_spy tranq
cl_spawnweapon_spy tranqgun
cl_spawnweapon_spy "tranq gun"
cl_spawnweapon_spy tranquilizergun
cl_spawnweapon_spy "tranquilizer gun"

It keeps spawning me with the knife out though.

I think you've found a bug. I'm looking into it. It seems to work for weapons other than the tranq.

Apologies!

Yes, this is a real bug. When you specify a spawn weapon which is different from the default spawn weapon and happens to be the last weapon you are given on spawn, the code fails at switching to it (as you are already holding it) and then equips your default weapon instead.

I've entered it here:

As a workaround you may be able to add "slot2" to your spy config file which I think gets executed each time you spawn.
