I heard Ihmhi cringed when he read that.
As for the player clipping........ I don't like it. Unless you can perfect the collision detection.... don't do this. On L4D, someone will stand inside of me... but forward JUST enough to be partially visible, and blocks the screen horribly. Granted, that's when standing still..... but that would fuck snipers up something fierce.

As annoying as it is to have yet another grenade bounce off the back of a stupid <insert class here>'s head and blow you up instead of your opponent who then goes on to capture the flag, I really would not like to see clipping. SD2 is perhaps the most affected by problem teammates getting in the way due to everyone spawning in the same spam friendly spawn, with no spawn protection turrets the opposition can stay very close to the doors too, further compounding the problem at times. However, quite a few people on here have given worthwhile suggestions for ways to solve this problem without changing too much about the map. It would feel far too artificial to be able to walk past one another all the time, and how would the defence feel now they can't block certain walkways from their opponents. |

Clipping would only work for team mates. Enemies wouldn't go through you.

There are ways around that problem. Besides, unless they also clip buildables(which would ROYALLY piss me off, TBH).... it won't help. But then, you couldn't build something, and use it for a stepping stone up.

I vote for "soft" blocking as well. Full clipping is bah.

I have a simple one, sorry if it was suggested already:
If the flag is being carried, some sort of notification who is carrying it. Obviously this is for your team only. Possibly a small flag icon on the score board near their name. I often find myself asking where the flag is or who has it and rarely get a response. |
