3D studio max

I have used it before for making random unrelated animations and models however how do I go about using it to make an animation of an FF model ?

e.g how do I import the player models and skins? I would really appreciate this and it's for my movie.

Also if anyone would say this is going to take me forever to learn and wouldn't mind making a couple of animations for me that would also be welcomed! Nothing spectacular, just to add that little bit extra to the movie
