I'm going to unlock the assault gun as my second, although I think I'll miss taking out jeeps with the GL.

The spec ops unlock is great for mid-long range, but I find it ineffective at close(ish) range -- I always seem to miss with it if I move even slightly :/

Hey, does anyone know why my promotion doesn't 'stick'?
I mean, I go to a server, fight for a while, get a promotion, then quit and look at my stats for that shiny PFC badge, and it's gone... what happened? It's like I didn't even play! What must I do to get that promotion to 'STICK'? |

sometimes the servers aren't in sync with EA, so it might take some time before your award shows up.

AFAIK, if you leave the game in the middle, it doesn't process your stats. If you leave the game as soon as you get the promotion, you won't actually recieve it. You have to play out the rest of the game, and once you get to the final screen where it shows all the stats, then you can leave and recieve the stats...
...I think. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that's the way it works. Or, it just takes some time to process. |

No, back on page 12 or something we talked about the stats.
Stat snapshots are sent at the end of a round by the server so as long as the server is up at the end of the round your stats *should* be sent off. So you can leave anytime during the course of a game and your stats will be updated accordingly when the round ends (provided the server doesn't crash). Server's will even keep stats if EA stat servers are down as well - like during one of the random midnight to 3 AM PST official server upgrade things. Now with that said, I have earned 4 awards that I've had to re-earn due to ... whatever. Point is I lost them somehow eventhough the round ended just fine... As for the promotion to PFC you don't get anything for that... just the extra stripe on your rank thing - there's no weapon unlock until you get Lance Corporal (1000 points). In the next patch they've said they've modified the stats a bit so I think you won't need as many points to get the higher ranks. In actuality, the point values they came up with are directly related to Battlefield 1942 and the number of hours/play time people put into that... There was a live chat thing on QuakeNET a couple nights back...

No unlock until lance corporal? Meh...
Oh well I still have fun. I only get something like 4-6 hours a week of total gametime (which includes all games, not just BF2). |

I was the MEC's ruination the other day on Karkand. Climb up to the tall building as spec ops and then C4 the flag point that is surrounded by a wall.. I racked up about 100 points, including a couple of tank kills it's always hilarious when you're on a roof and a vehicle stops to shoot up at you, then you toss a C4 onto its top and BOOM.

Are they going to fix the retarded stat padding people do as support or opposing team medics working together in the next patch?

Yeah, point farming will be tone down by only allowing you to get a certain amount of points per map doing that shit.

Last time I tried to play (a week ago), after applying the patch, every server I tried said I had the wrong version, despite having the "show same version" box checked.
I hate how companies can make such great games, then fail on the simple stuff (i.e. Valve and the "friends" list) |

less repetitive than TFC surely?
If you always play the same class and whore the same vehicles etc then it's gonna be fairly repetitive, but if you play different aspects of the game then I don't think it is. |

i guess im joining the wrong servers.. oh well i have not the time for games much these days :/ (says me in a gaming forum lol) |

I've found a few good servers with good teamplay, but you're quite right, there aren't many. I'm trying to join a good clan, to really get some good team playing in. I'm waiting to hear back from The Alpha Company.
