looks like the kind of game that would get boring extremely fast, but we'll see. would be interesting with a good multiplayer.

It actually has potential to NOT be boring, given different routes and potential for things. However, you're still running and climbing, just like you're still always shooting random things in FPSs.

OH GOD I JUST CAME.
For all we now, that could've been Quad-SLI'ed gx2's that are overclocked...

I bet you that all that "prettyness" will disappear once people start playing it on 8800 GT's and such...

My fear for this game is that, while it's being touted as being rather wide-open, that it will fall into the trap of having one path that makes sense to take, and many, many other paths that are too difficult/annoying to attempt.
Sort of along the lines of: "Well, you can walk across the bridge filled with candy stores, or stomp through this unmarked minefield..."
I also hope that the gameplay doesn't get stale. There's a lot of potential, but a LOT more room for them to fuck everything up.

Well, it is running on Unreal Engine 3, so it's already demanding right off the bat =/

there's less variability in running and climbing, though. there's only so many ways, I would imagine, that you could jump from building to building. at least you've got the shooter aspect still in it. and if it has a good plot, then I could see it being pretty good. still kind of wary of the game.

I'll probably buy it just to have fun with smacking helicopters with feet... except this time, it would actually be slightly more realistic.

I remember in Quake II, where it was actually possible to beat the last boss with just that Energy Gun thing... And of course, punching the Spider Mastermind to death (Doom II).

GTA? Ride a tank and enjoy the carnage.

What if there was a level where you had to break into a base past all these ninjas and guys with rocket launchers, and then shut down lasers and steal something?

TOTALLY ORIGINAL GAMEPLAY IDEA.

The first thing that came to my mind was Timesplitters.

One of the challenges in Future Perfect involved invading a base full of ninja monkeys with some robot allies. The enemy monkeys had weapons like rocket launchers and automatic rifles. I had to get through the base by deactivating some stuff.

It should've reminded you of every CTF map in FF.

FPS: Melee, pistol, submachine gun, shotgun, machine gun, exotic overpowered thing (thanks Mr. Croshaw!). How many different ways are there to shoot them? One.

Climbing a building can be done in many ways. Parkour outside style, dashing through the inside, working through ventilation and such, climbing up windows, and a mixture of all of those. How many different ways are there to shoot a gun? Generally two, primary and secondary.
