Internal Driver Error in IDirect3DDevice9::Present()
I have been running FF fine until valves last update when I started getting this error everytime I try to play. anyone have any Ideas on what it could be or how to fix it? I thought about trying DX10 to see if that would help.
After acknowledging that error I get the pure virtual function error, though I suspect that is only an after effect caused by the first. AMD Athlon 64 3500+ @ 2.2 GHz 1 GB Ram ( 128 Shared Nvidia Graphics) Windows XP |

UPDATE
damn it, i updated my drivers and THIS happens.
"error during Direct3D Init" when i try to run ANY 3d games i ran 'dxdiag' and tested Direct3D (under display) all tests came back with errors. Direct3D 7 test results: Failure at step 8 (Creating 3D Device): HRESULT = 0x80004005 (Generic failure) Direct3D 8 test results: Failure at step 8 (Creating 3D Device): HRESULT = 0x8876086c (error code) Direct3D 9 test results: Failure at step 8 (Creating 3D Device): HRESULT = 0x8876086c (error code) This WAS after I just updated my drivers to the latest ATI drivers (i have an x800pro). So i reinstalled directX, and switch the drivers back to what I had, and now im stuck with the erorr. I cant access any 3d games.. which are all the game I play. UGH. Anyone have any ideas? Ultimately i might have to reformat but I dont have a backup copy of XP. Ohhh well. |

I was getting the same error for CSS the other day. Updated my vid card drivers and I was fine. Running an Nvidia Geforce 6200 turbocache
Dunno if it'll work for FF, but it worked for CSS |
