Extremly long retrieving server info.
Hello, whenever I join a server I have to wait like 10 minutes for the retrieving server info, this is probably some rate problem but I don't know anything about rates, any tips are helpful.

AMD 3500+ 64-Bit
Geforce 6600GT 1 GB of RAM 10/10 Fiber internet if you need to know. In other source games it doesn't take at all this long. |

it doesn't have anything to do with your computer speeds, there are a ton of people with this same issue with this game only. So far there hasn't been an official response, but some possible solutions include disabling steam community in-game, and adding -autoconfig to the launch line. Neither worked for me so don't hold your breath.

Does this happen on every single server you try on?
It's possible that the server you are trying to get on is running sv_pure, and is checking the hashes of all your FF files. It sometimes takes me a while to receive client info, but I have a shit computer. Though it's more like 2 minutes, and not 10... |

it seems like it has to reload all the hash data over and over again, for no apparent reason. If its a level that has already been loaded before, the coding in the server part of the game should be set to reload the last previous time it has been played, unless the map has mods ofcourse.
