FF players lately...

WTF is goin on? Over the past 3 days, I have been on a lot more due to vacation time. And all i can say is holy shit.

Almost every server I have logged onto, theres always people flaming, trolling, typing walls of text, team killing and then bitching and whining to the admins when someone gets pissed at them. I feel like I am playing counterstrike with a bunch of 11 year olds...

Whats goin on with the FF community... And everone wonders why people get pissed and quit playing. Admins need to do their damn jobs. And people need to quit being friggen childish.

People start to wonder when this game will get more peeps, and as they wonder, they continue playing. Say they get jewed by an engi thru the ceiling with an emp one day while they were imagining what it'd be like to play a game with more than 10 people in it, all without lagging one time.

Fucking up their concentration, something snaps. They get very bitter and angry, very fast. So they try to become AWESOME at FF to prevent future JEWEMP attacks from occurring, then eventually get to a comfortable level of play where they know they are pretty damn good at this game. They now have good enough strats and stats to where they can start playing competitively.

But, something isn't normal. There are flame fests and psycho fits when they play. Not normal behavior at all. They play a few pickup matches, only to realize that the best 5 players in FF are in a single clan, and NEVER play on opposing teams. This sets them over the edge. A whisper of laughter emits from their pie hole, but suddenly, it gets louder and more chaotic by the second.

It quickly becomes maddening to the point that makes it contagious so that everyone playing also starts laughing like they've gone insane. Not being able to control their quick mouse movements and strafing capabilities due to this hideous cackling, someone accidentally reports someone due to quote, "Being a fgt.". Slowly in the distance, you start to see a shadowy figure appear.

It's an administrator, riding his gallant horse swinging a giant and magnificent ban hammer in the cold winter air, and just as he is about to give their first beating to some unwilling idiot that has become zombified by their madness, he starts to laugh. Quickly trying not to panic, he gasps for breath, holds his 2 hands over his mouth so that no one could hear it.

Doing this, he accidentally releases his mighty ban hammer from his grasp, and kills some unsuspecting bunny that was eating dinner, and causing a rip in time itself, removing any bit of hope from this game becoming even as popular as Half-Life: Ricochet.

If you run into this in the [o-t] environment, login to our forums and make a post in the player-to-clan communication section. Give a time and id of who's doing it, we'll check it out and take care of it.

??? What took you so long to notice? Those are just some of the many, many reasons why I have not played 6+ months ago.

There are a few bullies (as I call them) in the community that drive others away. The bullies use sprays, flame other players, play music, harass other players,,, to the extent that certain people are driven from the community.

I got tired of it a long, long time ago and decided to stop playing. I still support the community when and where I can. But there are players that are ruining this game for others. And nobody will do anything about it.

When you have a player that harasses other players, that is a bad apple and it needs to be removed before it spoils the whole barrel.

well, i just logged off of steam and i have to say Im through with this BS. you admins dont do your fucking jobs, cause you whine and say "oh, people will think we are too tough like OT" well woop-dee-fuckin-do. the OT server is the only damn server worth playin on. at least you can have a good match with no BS spamming, wallsoftexts, trolling, etc. friendly people there too. the rest of you, (edited)

With me, its not "the way admins run their servers" - its the way they dont run their servers. Its as if some server ops are either afraid, or do not care enough to set down guidelines.

It was after I read the replies to that thread that I decided to distance myself from the FF community. I will support the game, but I rarely, if ever play anymore. This is mainly because of the types of replies I got to a simple request.

The problems that Snipe is talking about are not new. They have been around for a long time, and it seems that nobody cares enough to do anything about it.

The fortress forever community has some good people in it - some really good people. But its the few bad apples that spoil it for everyone else.
